Fallout 4 and The Season Pass Problem

Bethesda has officially announced its first details for Fallout 4’s DLC. Normally, this may seem like a jolly thing. Fans of Fallout 4 that want more now have an idea of what to expect instead of being left in the dark, however, the problem arises when we begin to discuss the controversial pricing change.

is there any industry left where people arent trying to pull every single penny they can from our pockets!

UncertainCategory3787d ago (Edited 3787d ago )

Basically you have three options.

1) Don't buy the DLC.
2) Buy the packs one by one and spend over $60
3) Buy the season pass now for $30 and save 50%

See. There was originally $40 of DLC planned. Bethesda is now making MORE dlc, so $60.

And they are giving you a chance to get ALL the additional content for half off.

Enlighten me, where is the problem here? If they just, rose the price TODAY and said screw you, you might be on to something.

But they are giving you two weeks to save money.

Sounds like a good deal.

A fool and his money are so.... YOU are part of the problem, for lacking the ability to notice shady business practices. The practice? Paying up front for content we have to even see or KNOW if it justifies the price.

starrman19853786d ago

You have a problem with season passes, this whole issue is about adding extra DLC to a season pass and bumping up the cost!

The way I see this issue, we have been warned (like Dying light) and are still able to buy the more fleshed out season pass for the original price for the time being.

If you don't like it you can still absolutely buy the individual ones that suit you, or failing that not buy any!

ProLogY was keeping it on topic, no matter how you look at this change it IS good value for the time being. You are getting more for your money.

You and others like you are the vocal minority. The millions that bought Fallout 4 and loved it aren't here crying about it with you. You guys are so paranoid.

ifistbrowni3786d ago

I can't wait to take advantage of Bethesda and get two season passes for the price of one! Buying it for $30 ensures I get the originally planned content plus the new additionally planned content.

Bethesda are suckers!

TFJWM3786d ago

@littletad The cost of gaming is cheaper then ever. Games are longer and more content rich then ever. Sure there are exceptions but if you trust a publisher why not support them?

4) Wait until Steam is selling the game of the year edition for $20

Dark-soul3786d ago

i don't understand the problem, all fallout fans, bought season pass long time ago. And those who did not, still cant buy at at low price.
so whats a problem?

SynestheticRoar3786d ago

Never buy another bethesda game in my life.

VerdicLinwe3786d ago

Because you can get more than was promised for 30$? Take a chill pill.

Theparanerds3786d ago

I was actually going to buy the season pass last night sincei figured i'd end up buying them all anyways. I mean $30 is OK. Even though I still think Season Passes are dumb.

So i click on it and it's $30 AMERICAN. $40 Canadian. I'm not spending $40 on DLC. I just can't do it...

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot232d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder232d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain232d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
