If you have the money for the bundle then just build one its easy. That's what I did and I have been a console only gamer for 30 years. Enough videos online I couldn't believe how easy it was

I've always found buying the parts separately has been more expensive than bundles tbh. PCSpecialist has been that way for me anyway. Mind you they build the PC with the parts that you choose, so maybe it's more akin to building it yourself.

Saying that I only need a couple of new parts to be Oculus ready so I'll most likely do it myself anyway.
I've heard Oculus are exaggerating their recommended specs and that an fx8350 is fine as long as you have a gtx970 or greater, especially when most games start supporting dx12. The Oculus not supporting my usb3 ports is a kick in the teeth though...

Tbh if the Vive ends up having less demanding PC requirements then I'll probably end up getting one of those instead, unless it costs £1000 or so!

I was tempted to buy from a build specialist but in my case my build plus a monitor came in £300 cheaper than overclockers without a monitor, and I didn't skimp on parts.
Oculus not supporting usb3 is news to me I had the dk2 plugged into usb3, I'll look into that. I will consider a vive if they sell a bundle without the move controllers. I honestly see those type of games as a fad (a way to sell it to casuals). I think in a years time most gamers will be happy sitting with traditional controllers, at least I was using the dk2

Just checked on the oculus Web site and it says I require 3 usb3 ports and one usb2. Unless you know of some new news and they haven't updated the Web site you should be fine

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

Babadook71115d ago

I agree. It would sell better on PSVR2 right now.

Knushwood Butt1115d ago (Edited 1115d ago )

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

Abnor_Mal1115d ago

Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.

ApocalypseShadow1115d ago

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Abnor_Mal1115d ago

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

Knushwood Butt1115d ago

Just watched the trailer of Low-Fi. Most definitely on my radar.
