Plus origin is a big barrier and origin does not have nearly as many users as other sites.

12 million in sales is a funny way of saying a game isn't doing well. At this point I'm pretty sure EA doesn't care if people are playing it or not.

Not even at $26 on Origin Access the other day could I bring myself to get it.

I remember telling people this game wouldn't touch Black Ops 3 as far as playability and I caught all kinds of flak. I'm pretty accurate.

How does this even surprise anybody? PC players have had multiple Star Wars games and MMOs that covered what this game offers and even offered great single player on top of it. To them, this is just a stripped down version of something they've been playing for the past 20 years. Shadows Of The Empire, Republic Commando, Galaxies, The Force Unleashed games, Jedi Knight, back to the X-Wing and Tie Fighter series of games.

I'm a console gamer and this doesn't shock me at all. The package is so bare bones, that I'm surprised console gamers even like it as much as they do. There is no excuse not to include single player in a Star Wars game, when it means so much to the fanbase... Especially in the context of the first three movies and the newest, that reintroduces them to the best of the classic characters.

it never did well on pc nor any of the call of duty games or battlefield games. people are buying the high end tech to play cs. sometimes i wonder why i bought a 980 ti for.

This is what happens when you release a shell of a game designed to simply cash in on the license. Yes it looks good. Yes it sounds good. But the gameplay is stale within 15 minutes. There is no depth whatsoever, and little to keep ANYONE coming back for repeated play sessions.

Nice job EA!! Way to show us how you are going to treat this franchise license moving forward.

I'll buy it when it's $15 or through EA access.

It's actually a fun game, the problem is the match making. A server browser would fix most of those issues, but EA knows best..

I'm not sure if those numbers are accurate, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are. Cs go seems to have picked up big time on PC.

All of my buddies that ran out and bought the game, then played it for 2 weeks straight are no longer playing it. I skipped over it entirely after watching the gameplay footage. It just didn't appeal to me, and I love FPS games.

Cross-play across all platforms would make online only games last a lot longer.

The game in general was killed by no campaign and such limited content at launch. It's a case of a season pass/dlc getting ahead of itself, by gutting too much from the base game for planned dlc. It made the game get old quickly, and so many people left that I'm not sure many will even bother with the future dlc.

To boot, the PC version is heavily full of aimbots and wallhackers, so either you have to cheat too or get stomped (like most popular pc mp games). I'd much rather give up a little bit in graphics for a level playing field with the game on PS4 without cheats.

The $50 season pass ruined it for me.

Plain and simple, the game sucks. The gameplay is unimaginative and the game lacks content. I stopped playing it because the game lacks a decent number of maps and the gameplay is repetitive and boring.

The Star Wars name sold the game, nothing else. If this had been a different game it would have been ripped apart by the gaming media.

And EA wants $50 for DLC to add game content that should have been there at release date!

After Xcom 2 I lost sight of it on PC. My kids got sick of it on Ps4 too. There's not much to it after the star wars flare ends.

It goes to show that PC gamers have higher standards for gaming 😝 than console gamers that buy any game regardless if is trash or not.

The game does need more content that's for sure but just take it for what it is a simple fun blaster that's supposed to be for people of all ages. As for it being hard to find a game that's not true never had trouble finding a game love how most of the comments are people saying my buddy said or my friend said clearly there are a lot of people on here who haven't even played the game. I picked it up cheap on cd keys not disappointed with it it's fun and best looking shooter easily especially at 4k ultra 👍

Hum. Battlefront didn't sold well on PC.
- COD Bop3 is lacking in sales comparing to the consoles versions to the point that there's now a 15$ multiplayer package to stimulate the Pc player base.
- DLC# 2 of MKX won't even come to PC.
- Street fighter 5 is already getting trash on steam review
- And let's not talk about Batman Arkham Knight fiasco.

Some one mention COD is doing well on PC, well when the only mode I can play on PC is team deathmatch (on all PC cod) and I can play all mode on almost every xbox360's version, you know that the pc online shooter is dying.

But there's hope, with Quantum Break coming soon all the PS4 owner will magically have a PC that run QB perfectly dooming Xbox1 in the process.
After that there won't be a reason to buy the 3rd party console version since the PC version is also superior to PS4.
Making in the end, a huge community on pc for online play instead of the dead scene we have after 3 months with every new game.

More like people realised Battlefront in general (including the old games) are actually mediocre games. The lack of content simply left you focusing on what you're really playing rather than being distracted by all the Star Wars themed assets. It's fine to enjoy the content for what it is, there's nothing wrong with enjoying a lesser game, but the way people expected this to be good to begin with need a reality check.

As a pc gamer you spend so much money on the hardware itself and expect most games to be semi-cheap because biggest games are stuff like LoL that are great F2P titles and stuff. You don't wanna spend 120 friggin dollars on a retail release after buying a 600 dollar computer.

honestly, there are better FPS to play on PC. Planet side 2 or tribes for example...Even if this were a PC only game, as it stands it comes up short.

I won't be buying the game in it's current state. I played it over my brothers and i found it kinda boring. There just isn't enough there to keep me interested.

I played beta/10 hour trial and thought 'thanks for the free game'. No purchase. Just severely lacking.

It's the lowest rated Dice shooter in the past five years, the news doesn't surprise me. I like Star Wars, I have all the movies on Blu Ray even. But I just couldn't jump on board with this one. Maybe Battlefield 5 will "WOW" me. I just can't see paying that much for something right now that I'm not going to enjoy that much. I'm sure my first few days would be interesting playing and all. But, it's just not me.

I haven't even touched the game after getting level 50. I love the gameplay but after unlocking everything at level 32 and only cosmetics after that I got bored. I might come back when the expansions come out but there's too many good games coming out that are more interesting. I should've skipped this game but being such a huge Star Wars fan I got caught up in the hype.

piracy always has and always will affect how well a game sells in the PC market.

Looking at all the online statistics for Dice games. It's clear that PC gamers are not that interested in their games anymore.

PC has a much higher user base then PS4. But still the PS4 has more players on all of the Dice games.

For a, and excuse me for using these dumb words. For a "master race" it sure is strange to see that one of the best online fps games in so many years have less players online then the PS4 alone. And with the PS4 having more players on all other Dice games...One would think with the higher numbers of PC gamers and the excellent taste for great games...that the PC numbers would be much higher.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
