Yep, using the map, Ps4 technical issues and the late game plot all not great. But the start and the buildup is absolutely awesome. It had me hooked. Also its 17 bucks on psn so thats cool. Good game

10/10 can't go wrong for the price

It's a nice game but I was a bit disappointed with the initial plot and the technical problems. It's kinda annoying to get stuck at several points during my playthrough because of technical glitches.

I found this under the "Missions" section... the very first sentence...

"In Firewatch you play as Henry, a glorified Park Ranger who is employed to keep an eye out for fires and investigate shady activities in a Wyoming National Forest."

hahaha.. if you played the game you'd know that Henry is the farthest thing from a park ranger... let alone a glorified one... hahaha

he's just a normal dude who got a "FireWatch" job out of the newspaper.. I specifically say firewatch as his job because on multiple occasions throughout the game him and Delilah both refer to park rangers being out there somewhere with them...

like the notes in the cache boxs... or the one comment Delilah made about paths being overgrown... it was something like park rangers will just go around depending on the amount of thorns a trail has.

and the Camera is obviously there to take screenshots with... that if you own the PC version you can get printed off for $15... the pictures you also take show up during the end credits of the game.. including the pictures that were already on the camera when you first found it.

I bought this and Unravel at the same time, and Unravel is superior in every way imaginable. Even Unravels vague narrative is better and more personable. I absolutely hated Firewatch. Technical issues aside(of which there are plenty) the story just fell flat. In a walking simulator if the story sucks then what is the point of playing? I felt the same way about Everbodys Gone to the Rapture. Also Firewatch has a horrid,rushed, unresolved ending. I literally sat there for a solid 30 seconds with a WTF look on my face as the credits started. I wouldn't want to pay $5 for this game let alone $20. Also, unlike some reviewers who state it's a 4-5 hour experience I completed it in about 2.5 hours. Maybe reviewers played a completely different game than I did. Glitchy, bug filled, mess of a game.

good story and voice acting but as a game it's boring and linear.

getting tired of these artsy type of games that are trying to be all serious but neglect that playing a game should be fun and challenging.

This article makes a good point and I see this more and more with "game reviewers" these days and that's the mentioning and putting down of poor aspects of a game but somehow still giving said game a way higher review score that the review leads too.

Just like the Koalition review linked in the article here. The dude says the only negative thing about the game (which, really, only ONE thing?) is that the ending is bad...yet gives it a 98%...whaaaa...huhhh? So despite the ending sucking, the one thing you're actually working towards, the game is only 2% off of being PERFECTION? Please.

I remember this with Bioshock Infinite. Despite all the reviews making it out to be some Second Coming almost all of them touched on how none of the choices mattered, how the actual game play and gun play was pretty weak, how all the enemies were pretty poor and repetitive, etc...but because the story and ending were alright all the negative aspects...all the GAME aspects of the actual GAME...were just thrown out the window when it came to giving the game a score.

"Oh the actual game part that lasts 15 hours was pretty cheesy and poorly done but the story bits we got here and there were GREAT! 10 out of 10 PERFECT!"...again...what the hell?

Anyways, don't mean to rant, I just wish review scores would be a little more reflective of what the reviews actually talk about.

I remember watching JackSepticEye play Firewatch in.....2016. I miss games with mold keeping the old content quarantined.
