Take-Two to sign with EA

Take-Two says it expects to sign a confidentiality agreement with EA allowing EA to enter into Take-Two's formal process to evaluate strategic alternatives. Which basically means they're about to settle into some sort of talks.

Strauss Zelnick, chairman of Take-Two, said, "We welcome EA into our formal process and look forward to demonstrating to their Board the significant strides made by Take-Two since they last undertook a detailed review of our business in early 2007.

There goes anymore console exclusvies and quality games. But then GTA IV sucked, so Rockstar has lost their magic.

More like they just made one masterpeice GTA III

Bleucrunch6479d ago

god forbid this happens but if it does then I wont be buying anymore games for take two as well. I hate EA and I will not support them. This truely would be a sad day in gaming if this happens.

GTA was not quality. I am curious what happens with the sports titles.

SAYONARA!!!

It was great knowing you.

I think you should say hello to more showing of quality from EA.

Hopefully it'll improve their customer service and how they treat their employees, too.

As far as GTA, the game is quality and you can't really doubt that.

They trimmed it down from what it was, though I, too, miss the taxi and ambulance missions, etc., and don't welcome the return of "generic" missions.

I find it amazing that Columbo and the gang didn't report this...

This is a duplicate 4 times over at least

and the headline is completely misleading.

LOL I'm sorry - did you guys think GTV IV was quality??

Repetitive drivel is still crap if you paint it pretty.

I for one am happy about this merger. Both companies are really exactly the same in the quality of games they make, and so I'm glad to see they will be combining to make slightly better quality games.

LossTheEarthbreaker6479d ago

But I somewhat agree with the sentiment.

omg, EA just doest know when to quit, stop trying to buy other companies and produce quality titles from the studios you already have!

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman28d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
