But I never seen a guy talk so much to critics though..

Just STFU and let the game speak for itself. I played the demo and he is right, I just don't get it. The thing is though, I don't have to get it. I hope the game is successful but it will not get my money.

on your game failed. i knew it was gonna flop anyone who played the demo knew this. the controls just didn t feel right and the camera o the camera what were they thinking.

The bottomline here is that the game is not good and Dennis needs to deal with it.

I know Denis is a little off the wall and usually pretty harmless in his interviews, but this one was just kind of weird. I wonder if he is having interview fatigue or something, but telling us if we don't like his game we just don't get it?

You're a developer for heaven's sake. If your game is bad, then it's bad. There's room for improvement if you're going to do a sequel.

Isn't this pretty much what the Lair team did after everyone kicked the sh1t out of it because of bad controls? "You don't like it? You just don't get it. It's the greatest game in the world and you're too stupid to understand it and why it's so great." Too Human died because it was in development for too long, the hype behind it was ridiculous, oh and from what a lot of people are saying, the game is just not good.

<sigh> here we go with the a game scoring 6,7, or 8's is a bad game. If most of the people saying it is bad played the demo then fair enough, but somehow I guess most of the hate is coming from the scores it's getting and reviews. I haven't played it (but I'll try to if my friend gets it on his console) I haven't purchased a game based on a review since Lair as that got panned to hell, yet I loved it and finished it beginning to end three times. I do hope it turns out to be good, hoping a game is bad is retarded and doesn't do ANYONE any favors.

As for him replying to bad reviews and comments, so what? He's human, he can reply all he wants. If I made something which I believed in and someone bashed it then someone asks my opinion, you're damn right I'm gonna say something in defense, why is everyone so surprised? Developers rants or opinions do not affect my purchases either.

ok, sure the guy has a right to defend his game...but if you never take onboard what the critics have to say, you will never see your mistakes... and if you never see those mistakes, how will you know what changes to make to improve ?

I don't care what anyone says, there is "nothing to get " in having a bad camera ! a bad camera is just that... a bad camera !

so what you saying, we don't " get " the graphics... its not like they have gone for something colourfull or cell shaded !

i can understand us not " get " things like the story, but the game has some major issues and the more he goes on abou this sort of thing, the less chance i see too human 2 or 3 being any better.

As SK created Eternal Darkness, I have a lot of respect for them. But parts of that interview smack of dellusion on the part of Denis.

So if people liek the game, that's fine. But if they don't it's because they don't 'get' it. So basically he's saying that people who don't like his game are stupid.

I'll be reserving complete judgement on the game until I play it, but nothing I've seen has suggested this game has some sort of high brow 'message' for the masses.

First and foremost a game should be fun, and controls/camera should be tight - I don't give a rat's ass about the story if there's fundamental control issues. Every review has at least mentioned the camera being a bit duff. So for me, regardless of the 'message', it'll be a rental.

You created a game that you love and wish that all would see it for what you see it as but alas, we do not. In the eyes of those who will be renting/buying the game, you have created something on the side of mediocrity and should take it back to the drawing board. Better luck next time and remember, it is your fans that buy games and provide you with the resources you spend in making them. Give us something we want next time and not something to settle for.

M. Night Shyamalan once said something very similar in an interview he had when he was asked what he thinks about so many critics/movie goers saying that the majority of his movies (referring mostly to his more modern movies and not his classics) pretty much suck and have stupid twists that completely destroy what could have been a decent movie. His response was that it's not that the movie sucks, but we just don't get it. The story and movie is so awesome that it's completely above EVERYONE'S head and that we should go back and watch it until we start to understand the movie.

I thought that was the dumbest thing that I've ever heard. Implying that there's nothing wrong with his horrible movies and that we all just don't get it.

At the time I thought that was the last time I would ever hear/see something so retarded from such a professional and I guess up until now it was.

Just accept that you dropped the ball on this game and move on to the next one. It's not like you can't fix the problems in the next game. Besides, I don't see why people are so surprised about the way this game turned out. It took 10 years to develop and not because they wanted to, but because they kept having problems after problems and they also kept jumping ship from one console to the next. It had fail written all over it from the beginning. Anything that goes through that many transitions before it finally comes out has a very low chance of succeeding. I can only imagine how many versions of code those guys have for that game before they finally settled on one.

Quote me now, the next one will be 10x better since I would assume that after all the failing they had building the first one are behind them. But, this game turned out exactly how I expected given its history.

Y'know it's too bad that Dennis lets the critics get under his skin. He seems like a nice guy when he's just talking about his game and not the hype or criticism surrounding it. You can tell he's very passionate about what he does and THAT is nice to see from developers... but the problem is he refuses to acknowledge that there may be legitimate reasons behind the criticism. I'm not here to say that Too Human is a bad game. I played the demo and it certainly was not for me, but I understand that those who enjoy dungeon crawling and loot collecting could find alot to like about Too Human. It seems as though Dennis expects everyone to revere his game no matter what though. I do believe developers should let the game speak for itself... while at the same time it is their right to address whatever they want to... I feel the way he goes about it is all wrong. In the end I think he's only damaging the game's reputation further by declaring that those who do not like the game simply do not understand it. If you ask me, that is showing alot of arrogance. I can understand he may be frustrated with how some have received the game, but he's too quick to believe that everyone else has it wrong. Really I think all he needed to say about this game was, "We've had some stumbling points along in development but I feel we were really able to produce something solid. It will not be a game for everyone but we feel there's a big audience for this type of game and I think we've done something unique for a console game." Really that's all he needed to say. Instead of seeming confident that they've created something great, he appears desperate to convince everyone. He just needs to excercise a bit of restraint.

Too Human just seems to be a game which you will either hate with a passion or you will like. Read the reviews for just a basic overview of any game and then play the damn game if your interested tbh.

While he does talk a lot - one thing is for sure - he is not stupid and I've never heard anyone prove him to be a liar. He is proud of too human because he is a perfectionist and would never allow to release an inferior product. If he says something is good - take his word for it. Lighten up!

See, the thing is Denis, it's not about forcing us to "get it." That's your job as a developer, to create a game that we intuitively "get." You can cry all day and night about people not understanding your genius, but true genius should be apparent and self-evident.

The game says it’s free but when I click download it ask me for credit card information... Microsoft you never fail to amaze me.

Wait, wasnt the existance of this game "illegal" technically because they used unreal engine files even tho they did not pay the engine fees? And then the company went under so it was never re released?

This game was a free game last year when Microsoft announced the final round of backwards compatibility for Xbox One, this was given free

This game was supposed to be so good but it ended up being a letdown. I know some people liked it but i was so letdown by it and i tried to force myself to like it but it sucked.

This game was so bad that it doesn't even worth our download time, let alone to "play" it.....

Too Human has always been for free on Xbox 360. Microsoft can't sell the game legally because of a Lawsuit, that's why it's available for Free

Loved this game apart from the long death animation I also finished it .

Was a very good game. I remember it was going to be part of a trilogy it even said that on back of box. Wish 2006/07 was back again, best gaming memories ever for me

Rest in peace. He made some great soundtracks during an excellent and unfortunately long gone era of unique games.
