Still no official SLI Support -__-'

I somewhat understand why Bethesda doesn't spend time in supporting it.

While SLI sometimes helps, there will always be diminishing returns. Each additional card only increases the processing power and thus FPS by 70% or so. Meaning your 2nd card is getting slightly gimped and your 3rd card is processing at about half of what it should be... and so on.

It's simply better (and sometimes cheaper) to buy a single high-end graphics card. And if you already have a high-end card like a Titan X or GTX980ti, there's no real reason to need SLI because you should be able to run it on Ultra and maintain a steady FPS - even at 4K.

UltraNova3754d ago

Even though you are correct on all accounts, you cannot deny the fact that in the end some people will want even more power and SLI/Xfire is the only way to go even after OCing current high-end GPUs...

Buying a single high-end GPU is only satisfactory during the early stages of their release cause newer more demanding games will always create the need for more power.

A never ending circle.

NohansenBoy3754d ago

Also they're doing that scummy GPU exclusive features thing. Sad the only thing bottlenecking my R9 270x is bad game design choices.

MrDead3755d ago

Good list of fixes, covers a lot of my issues with the game and just in time for my second playthrough.

FullmetalRoyale3754d ago

I stopped playing after about forty hours. These fixes might get me back in. I really need to learn my lesson, here

Apollosupreme3755d ago

Honestly, I didn't have any issues during my play through beyond a couple funny glitches. Guess I got lucky.

Same here and I tend to forgive them with such a massive game with so many working parts.

Simco8763754d ago

Same here, but people dont understand that programming and testing something that huge with so many things that could throw code into a funk...Gamers too entitled nowadays.

KosherNostra3755d ago

Haven't been able to play for over a week due to MacCready's "Killshot" perk, which I'm glad to see is being addressed, here. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm still gonna be locked out of "The Big Dig", because I don't see anything about them fixing Bobbi No Nose's bug. Ah well, something's better than nothing, I guess.

MrDead3754d ago

MacCreadys Killshot has made it impossible for me to miss a headshot in VATS, distance doesn’t seem to matter my hit chance always reads 95%.

KosherNostra3754d ago

Yup, that's what I'm talking about. It's supposed to boost your accuracy by 20%. Instead, it boosts it by 2000%.

eZJrg6ur3754d ago

How are you not able to play because of that? It's a 'positive' bug.

Walter_Official3754d ago

Some people prefer immersion

KosherNostra3754d ago

It's basically "God Mode", and I don't wanna just cruise through my first playthrough. There's absolutely zero challenge. Like MrDead said, there's no chance of missing a headshot, regardless of distance. Where's the fun in that?

DragonKnight3754d ago

You understand that you had at least 4 options available to you that would have "addressed" the "problem" you were having without Bethesda needing to fix what wasn't a real problem right?

1. Use a Melee build. They can't target limbs so the perk is useless.

2. Don't use VATS. Since the perk is only good in VATS, not using VATS would have solved your problem.

3. Don't get Macready. No Macready, no perk.

4. Don't get the perk. You are not obligated to do any of the companions' personal quests, which would mean you never have to get the perks.

Oh, there's actually another fix.

5. Don't use headshots in VATS.

All of those would have solved your problem. What likely happened is you found out what the bug did and couldn't resist using it over and over despite your apparent "issue" with it.

Oh...

6. Piss Macready off so he leaves and you lose the perk.

This bug hurt nothing and no one. Next you'll be saying you can't play because of the Dogmeat glitch, or the vendor exploit because muh immersion. Even though you have so many ways to play that involve no exploit use at all.

DVAcme3754d ago

@DragonKnight Playing around a game's bugs is never a viable option. We shouldn't have to deal with the game this way in the first place. A more sensible solution would have been to suggest downloading a mod that corrects the bug. Nexus has had it for a while already. Hell, the Unofficial series of patches the fans come up with are much better than anythibg Bethesda comes up with anyway.

DragonKnight3754d ago

@DVAcme: When the bug is entirely an option and not some random, unwanted occurrence, then you're not playing around the bug, you're just not using it. The perk affects headshots and only headshots, therefore if you feel like you can't enjoy the game because it's too easy to get a headshot, you have any number of options available to you.

I mean, with the right perks you can still get this 95% accuracy rate without Killshot. Tinker Tom's special + Crouching + Concentrated Fire will give the same result. Is that a bug? Nope. Can you avoid it several ways? Yep. What's the difference?

I'm sorry, but complaining to Bethesda because you can't control yourself and make your own game a cakewalk is childish and not Bethesda's problem. Sure, they never intended Killshot to be a 2000% increase, but when does Bethesda ever release a game without beneficial, or detrimental, bugs? Be lucky that this bug was entirely avoidable and not game breaking.

Reminds of the article about the guy who gave up Fallout 4 because he used the Dogmeat glitch to give himself 10 in all stats then found the game too easy. Difference is that he blamed himself for that.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot184d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder184d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain184d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
