Prolific developer Michel Ancel, the creator of Beyond Good & Evil, confirms that the game is still under development during a recent interview about the franchise.

I love how they only added Jade like a year later through a CGI trailer to hush up the complaints about it being a prequel without Jade
Only to show Jade who's now evil creating a massive timeline issue as it makes no sense.
It's been in development for 15 years and counting. So, who cares, really? Say whatever you want. It's completely meaningless.

I was so disappointed that this game died.
But Ancel himself isn't entirely clean....
He has an habit of not finishing games.
Man there's quite a long line forming of canceled/dormant 3rd party projects for PlayStation that never came out...

Last night the Toronto Maple Leafs took 14 shots and the NJ Devils took 38.
Toronto won 2-1 proving that the quality of shots is far more important than the quantity.

However, if you fail, expect a witch-hunt and then to be thrown under the bus. Oh, and leadership isn't going to do anything to try and address the root-causes of the issues, as they'll be too busy trying to tick boxes, or with the next witch-hunt, which will come along very soon.
Im sure none of you believe Sony is not about quality. Pretty sure their domination speaks for the quality of their products.

You look at game pricing this gen, some of these games will flop. £70 for PS5 games, Sony raised the price of PS4 games, all these years on, the PS4 is still out there, PS5 was released too early and now we're soon heading for PS6. It staggers me that Sony and Microsoft can't see that gaming is heading for a crash.
I was really stoked for this. I liked that giant Snake-lady god or whatever it was. It looked like it had some great art direction.
This year promises to be a big year for gaming, and it will definitely be one of the greatest if any of these big MIA projects finally made it into gamers' hands.
Pretty sure Silk Song and Dragon Age are going smoothly. The other 2 can be assumed to be quietly cancelled knowing their publishers and Metroid will most likely be shown off this year.

I remember in 2017 when Nintendo showed off the Metroid Prime 4 logo, and some Nintendo defenders claimed "Just because they only showed a logo, doesn't mean that's all they've worked on for the game."
As history has proven, they were wrong. Nintendo showed off a logo back in 2017 because that's literally all they had.
I think Beyond Good and Evil 2 can stay there unless they are going to just rename it to a new IP
Pretty sure BG&E2 is dead at this point - along with the other game Ancel was working on before he left - I think it was called WILD. Anyone remember that from a PS conference years ago?
Dreadwolf isn't in development hell anymore and is finally getting its reveal in the summer - since 2016 the game has been scrapped and restarted three times but its been going pretty well since the last reboot when EA finally allowed BioWare to just get on with making a single player game.
I'm not sure Perfect Dark is in development hell either - like it could be but we haven't really heard much to suggest either way - imo they just showed the trailer off when the game was still in pre-production. Xbox were desperate for anything and this is all they had at the time. And the reason we haven't heard anything since is just because it's in normal development and games take 5 years to make. The help from a support studio was typically overblown on N4G because nearly every game has this.
Until I see a gameplay video, I'll still consider this to be vaporware
