Mighty No.9’s third delay tests gamer’s patience

Alex Gibson from GamersFTW writes "The recent announcement of Mighty No.9’s third delay comes as highly irritating, though not entirely surprising news. Keiji Inafune’s latest statement, though heartfelt and probably quite genuine, is sure to leave a sour taste in the mouth for fans. The game is now nearing parody levels of frustrating delays, and anticipation is quickly being replaced by discontent."

Mighty No.9 has such potential.. but these delays are taking the piss. Its a Kickstarted game ffs! Get it out..!

zcmilano3775d ago

Agreed.. I was pumped for a spiritual successor to Megaman from Inafune, but now the delays have crashed the party a bit..

jeremyj29133774d ago

My expectations were always kept in check by the fact that it was lead by him.

Neonridr3775d ago

and I was one of the millions of backers..

sitting here patiently waiting, twiddling my thumbs for this game to release.. :P

basilboxer3775d ago

I feel for you.. I didn't back the game, but I did consider a pretty order. Glad I didn't.. I'll still play the game.. but damn it's beyond a joke now.

ChickeyCantor3774d ago

They wanted to release it in a broken game.

Kickstarted =/= well managed

98xpresent3775d ago (Edited 3775d ago )

All i wanna know is who really wanted the MP ?

MegaRay3775d ago

Inafune... and only him...

Hold_It3775d ago (Edited 3775d ago )

I think it's safe to say this Kickstarter was a scam. I hope that Bloodstained will not share the same fate.

secretcode3775d ago

I have a lot of faith in the idea that one day we'll actually be playing Bloodstained and Yooka-Laylee. MN9, not so much.

secretcode3775d ago

Hey man, I won a $50 bet off it getting delayed a third time. Tempted to go double or nothing on another delay.

MegaRay3775d ago

Go double, its gonna be delayed again, until ReCore releases.

ScorpiusX3775d ago

I don't get the anger , the man is making a game which he didn't have to , plus the mans studios has other projects to complete also . i say we all just be patient.

Roccetarius3775d ago

That's exactly the kind of excuse he's looking for, from other people. It's his responsibility to provide what people backed, instead of letting other projects get in the way of it.

ScorpiusX3775d ago (Edited 3775d ago )

Or he can cancel it refund people money & wash his hands of it , till he finds a publisher while avoiding the constant demand . Side note those other projects are backed also so they are priority also in his eyes .

secretcode3774d ago

@castillo He actually won't be able to do that. Once a Kickstarter is successful, he's no longer required to do anything. He doesn't have to give money back or put out the product. It's a busted system.

Man, what a let down this was. I don’t even want to admit what I added to the crowd fund… let’s just say I learned a valuable lesson.

I think a large swath of the N4G community has been in your shoes.

Lol, I literally said that out loud when clicking on this article.

VersusDMC1394d ago

Only tried the demos for both and mighty 9 looked atrocious. Megaman 11 was fun and polished. Never played both full versions but will see it they are on PS Extra when i get home.

Mostly get my megaman fix playing the azure gunvolt games and spin offs. And Maverick Hunter X on my Vita.

VersusDMC1393d ago

Just tried Mighty No 9 again on PSExtra...graphics are atrocious and taking down enemies by dashing into them feels so hollow.

Kickstarter's Gaming Successes Prove Big Gaming Doesn't Know What Fans Want

Kickstarter has allowed game developers all over the world to bring their respective visions to life, while AAA Studios remains out of touch.

TheEnigma3132276d ago

This is very true. Companies like EA, UBI, MS seem to be disconnected from what fans want.

Um I’m not too sure about that check how well those games sold besides the money they got from Kickstarter they didn’t sell nearly as much as most games from publishers (AAA or not).

The unfortunate reality is these days games like Shenmue 3 and Bloodstained are incredibly niche and the only way it could survive is by use of a fan funded website like Kickstarter.
