IGN - Diablo 3's largest patch to date (2.4.0) demonstrates superb post launch support, but what does it say about the game's future?

Blizzard reveals plans to speed up Diablo releases with more frequent expansions and updates as the franchise moves toward a live-service future.
All I want is a physical disc release of remastered D2 that doesn't require online check-ins.
I've lost complete interest. Too much FOMO with seasons as it is, now it's expansions? No thanks.

I'm playing this game at the moment and it feels like a cellphone game. It's okay, but it feels cheap and overly simplified.

I hope Blizzard is working on Diablo 4, because that's what I want
I would love Diablo 4 or another expansion but I sure as hell ain't complaining about these updates. Always come back playing every season.
I haven't bought RoS because i'm waiting for another expansion, but these content heavy updates are making wonder the same thing. Next time i see the game on sale for PS4, i'm buying it.
I just want the Druid back. Whether that be in an expansion or D4, I could care less as long as they bring him/her (or a similar character) back!!
