GameRant:
With the high-end prices for both Oculus Rift and potentially PlayStation VR, there are concerns that the technology will be too expensive to draw in users.
2016 has been long expected to be the year in which Virtual Reality became a truly possible part of gaming. A number of major players in video games and tech have been vying to create the must-have VR headset for would-be users. VR is a medium perfect for adventuring through new lands, so here's some of the best VR Adventure Games available in 2026.
Are a bunch of games, some of which are nearly 10 years old not one being from 2026. Barely one from 2025.

Skyworld: Kingdom Brawl, one of the best RTS card battlers in VR is shutting down this July, developer Vertigo Games has confirmed.
Yes VR is expensive when it's released, but it gets cheaper within a yr as the old minimum required hardware drops down in price. My prediction is that the 1st year of VR will do relatively well with ethusiast buying up most of the stocks. Later down the line the average consumer will be able to afford it once price drops.
That $999 Oculus ready PC found on the dell site who are partnering with Oculus will drastically drop in price in a year. Those PC specs would then be considered mid-range and affordable, especially if its only a matter of upgrading your GPU.
Stop whining. This is pioneer tech. This comes at a price.
I'll just be sticking with my Xbox and ps4 for a few years what with all the rent, insurance, credit card bills and food expenses these days. Life is too expensive to live
Wow, TheCatsMeow someone thats actually lives in the real world.
VR is not too expensive. It is priced based on the cost of the tech in it!
The issue is that people may not willing to pay the price for that tech. Especially since there are articles about how this is just the start and VR tech will quickly evolve over the next few years. Which essentially means any investment in it is a throw away. I don't know a lot of people that are willing to throw away $600 to try something and have it completely outdated quickly.
VR has a bright future, I just don't think its future is now. It is more like 5-10 years down the road when the tech is solid and it doesn't need improvement to truly give the experience people want.
