Damn fine. Though its a beta update. There might be some bugs.

donwel3774d ago

MIGHT be some bugs. In a Bethesda game.
Good one.

Shinier and shinier. Fallout 4 impressed me more than I thought with its pretty pretty graphics

Alexious3774d ago

It is, especially on PC. I don't get people saying that it has "OK" graphics; it's actually great on max settings and it will only get better with patches & mods.

Eldyraen3774d ago

Bigger city structures can look a bit last gen at times from the outside especially polygon wise but I can't really complain as think it looks good.

LamerTamer3774d ago

Probably ONLY on PC. I play this on PS4 and there are some pretty ugly textures and bland lighting in some areas. If you look out at a distance it looks terrible. I remember Dying Light even on PS4 looking MUCH better.

TheLEGENDofTydo3774d ago

@LamerTamer I don't know why you are getting disagrees. The Texture on consoles are literally unacceptable to me. Walk up to a phone/electric pole in the game on console. There literally isn't a texture really its just blurry brown.

Apollosupreme3773d ago (Edited 3773d ago )

On my machine the game looks gorgeous. It might be the colours in the game that are getting them. It's a post apocalyptic game and so it needs a lot of Browns and yellows. I will say that on the backdrop the bright reds of the lasers and the greens of the plasmas and gammas look amazing. Gun fights are beautiful when you have a lot of energy weapons at play.

I was in a battle in the south against some super mutants and suddenly synths showed up firing at both of us and then a Gunners vertibird swoops in. Before I know it the vertibird is exploding and everyone is dead but me. Those contrasts add a lot of character to it all.

Won't see them with my video card

sinspirit3774d ago

I have a NVidia card, but I hate exclusive graphical effects. PhysX is one thing because you can install it and run it off CPU. But, if this is just only NVidia cards, period, then that sucks. Hopefully a mod finds a way to enable it for AMD.

as someone who just built a gaming pc in december I am not happy to be seeing exclusive nvidia effects what type of nonsense is this?

I went with the r9 390 because it had better specs than the price equivalent nvidia card.

darksky3774d ago

Complain to Bethesda like I've done. The effects can be done on the cpu so only reason they put the Nvidia only feature in was probably a cash incentive from Nvidia or pure laziness. Th debris effect should and can be done even on the consoles.

I wouldn't have even bought the game if they had done this stunt from the start.

JamesBroski3774d ago

Well, thank Nvidia. While AMD are open source, Nvidia keep everything for themselves so that people think Nvidia's cards are better and worth the price. Main reason why I don't support Nvidia.

Elit3Nick3773d ago

Exact same card as you, and I don't plan on changing to Nvidia while they continue this practice, it's a consequence of them holding a monopoly on the industry, so it's important that we vote with our wallets that this is wrong.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot187d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder187d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain187d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
