As 2015 is now nothing more than a fond memory, we're taking a look towards the future and the stellar line-up of blockbuster titles awaiting us in 2016. With so many promising games on the horizon identifying those that stand out from the pack is certainly a challenge. Who will compete for GOTY 2016?

All available May 5.
I think the only game here for me is Nine Sols. Was always interested in that game.
Good month for me, I wanted that particular footy game and thought it might be due. Anyway who cares, shame about the site I'll miss the comment sections. All the best everyone.
Naughty Dog was reportedly divided on the controversial fate of Joel in The Last of Us Part 2 during the game's development.
I think it was good decision, if he was still alive, he would have been a mascot just like Kratos, drake and many others. These old dudes gotta die for new characters to take center stage with their own storyline. They keep dragging the emotional baggage into many sequels and eventually the story just turns into absolute shit show.
Honestly as much as I loved the game, they could have just not killed him off.
I get it creator vision and all but killing a character that made you millions is just wrong imo. At least have him go down fighting.

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.
Too early to decide but Uncharted 4, FFXV, Zelda U seems to be the strongest contenders followed by Quantum Break, The Last Guardian, Horizon Zero Dawn and Dark Souls 3.
The new Zelda probably which is missing here.
I hear a lot of talk on IGN podcast and stuff about game journalism still being pretty young. but journalism in general is not. you apply the same tools just to a different subject.
This article is exactly what is wrong with gaming journalism, we are 14 days into 2016, there has been no major releases what so ever and someone has decided to make an article about who will take GOTY this year, GTFO and put some effort into writing something worth while that you can have a valid opinion on through personal experiences and something that you can at least actually research from other peoples opinions.
All this is, is a list of big title blockbuster games coming this year, well done for creating a list.
Uncharted 4, Zelda, Horizon, Inside, Below, Quantum Break, and Dark Souls 3. I think these all have a solid chance but we also need to see more on later 2016 games since the new year just started.
Definitely a stacked year anyway.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is the most likely candidate.
Next likeliest are The Legend of Zelda, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Dark Souls III, Final Fantasy XV and maybe Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
