Oculus Rift Order Shipments Delayed Until June

Many have screamed out in protest at the rather high cost of entry, but that's not the biggest worry for those who're committed to getting their heads inside the piece of kit.

The first batch was allocated for launch, that was gone. As preorders climbed, the ship dates had to change. I got April, and I am perfectly fine with that.

Article shouldn't really have been approved. The estimated delivery date for new orders is getting pushed later and later as more pre-orders come in, but there is nothing to indicate that any existing orders have been delayed.

Seems it will take a while for Oculus to meet demand for the Rift, but they are being responsible and keeping customer expectations in check. Time will tell if they can hit their targets for supply.

What are these people doing? The internet declared this to be way overpriced and the death of VR, didn't they get the memo? /s

2 games and 1 xbox one controller along with oculus rift for $599 plus $30 shipping and no tax(lucky me). its still high price but its still worthy it. not just for gaming but i can use it as virtual movie theater to watch movies with it. I might rid of my tiny 150 inch projector screen once i get my oculus. Having a virtual IMAX movie theater for price of 52 inch tv is worth buying.

That's fine. GT7 would overshadow it anyway at it has open wheel and regular cars.

Should have been spending their time updating Squadrons with better resolution, frame rate, haptics, etc as there isn't a game like that on PS VR 2 yet.

But it's EA. They don't think.

Babadook71098d ago

I agree. It would sell better on PSVR2 right now.

Knushwood Butt1099d ago (Edited 1099d ago )

A wasted opportunity, but I don't buy EA / Codemasters stuff anyway. Grid Legends just came out on Plus and I haven't touched it. Why would I when I have GT7 and PSVR2?

Abnor_Mal1099d ago

Not into F1 racing, but still a missed opportunity.

ApocalypseShadow1099d ago

That's where opportunity presents itself that they could offer something else that other developers haven't offered yet. Yeah. There's No Man's Sky. But a space game with a story would be great. Like the old days with Colony Wars.

Abnor_Mal1099d ago

Exactly, they could have possibly lured more players just from the inclusion of a vr mode.

I miss Colony wars and G-Police, Low-Fi I hope will scratch that itch when it releases. We also need a vr War/Starhawk game.

Knushwood Butt1098d ago

Just watched the trailer of Low-Fi. Most definitely on my radar.
