Valve ARG

"First off, Merry (late) Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!

After the festivities, what’s better than sitting down and having a good gaming session, or watching some TV? Well, an ARG by Valve of course! The sleuths of the Internet have once more stumbled on something very interesting involving Steam. Of course, when Valve is involved, everything immediately turns to the attention of a possible announcement of Half-Life 3. The long awaited third game of the series has been constantly searched for by fans for years, and the total collected information on the subject is quite vast. Suffice to say, the information found so far seems to indicate that, indeed, Half-Life 3 is being made."

Hopefully not something for DoTA 2

Half Life 3 Valve come on

KingKelloggTheWH3705d ago

Jeeze, people would probably be mad if that was what it turned out to be.

Sick to death of hearing about that game from them...I know it has it's fanbase but Valve need to stop focusing so much on multiplayer/co-op games and give us a single player experience.

Hell Portal 2 could have had a longer games script, which I'm guessing could have been longer in general for the main story (more levels) but they had to cut it for the co-op story. In the end since it's Valve they could have done the single player story first and then add the co-op story as free DLC...something they did for the add on co-op story.

I wouldn't mind L4D though...although it has to feature the old survivors.

Don't care how they deal with Bills situation but they have a number of ways to get through it. Either replace him and they find out Florida is a bigger hell hole compared to where they were OR the crossover event in the DLC/Comic was a "What If" story and they get on a train which goes North at the end of the Army Camp...the camp being the first level of L4D 3

@-Foxtrot
Yeah, I don't care about the game but seeing it and hearinf about it all the time is really getting annoying.

If it's for DoTA 2 or something non-game related I'll be pissed. I'm hoping something cool comes out of this but after years of being burned by Valve regarding Half Life 3, I wouldn't doubt it being nothing.

On the other hand, if this is real and Half Life 3 is indeed coming, the Internet has to prepare itself to implode. That's literally all everyone in the world will be hearing about.

I'm sorry, but not even an ARG can convince me that this is actually in development.

I'll only believe it when they actually announce it. However, it's been too long that I think it's best to just leave it. They know they won't be able to live up to the hype.

Peace_Love_and_FPS3703d ago

Maybe it could live up to the hype though

FlyingFoxy3703d ago

I'm a huge fan of L4D and Half Life, at this point i really hope they reveal at least ONE game this year.. It has been almost 2 years since those leaked L4D2 plantation level slides running on Source 2 and still no news!

Can't wait.. But my PC is ready.

illty3703d ago

just confirm hl3 already and i can die in peace

Khaotic3703d ago

Not gonna happen. They could never create a game to live up to the hype of half life 3. And valve knows it

How the DMCA Laws Put Indie Developers at Risk

Filing a false DMCA claim costs nothing, requires no proof, and can destroy an indie game's launch in minutes. Fighting back can cost tens of thousands of dollars and take weeks (if you can afford it at all).

Copyright is copyright. DMCA is a good thing that protects creators IP., revenue and usage. and you can absolutely appeal a wrongful DMCA takedown. It’s happened to me. Was easily resolved.

....I don't feel like you read the article, at all.

it's a good thing, but it's also long been reported, across a variety of industries and websites, that currently the system is ripe for and full of abuses. From fair use strikes, to matters like the one reported in this article. It's clear the law needs some tooth to punish bad actors and that parameters need to be set in how reports are filed; ie human review of said content and not some AI bot false flagging stuff. As is the system is far to easily abused by those who have motive to suppress and flag content they have no business or right to.

Commentby8d ago

No system will ever be perfect, but there needs to be a review, unless it blatant.

Nevers0ft7d ago

Until there's genuine consequences for this type of abuse, it'll keep happening across all media. DMCA is in principle a good thing, but it needs an overhaul.
