I've been playing the BETA and I can say its a beautiful and fun game. You can see the hard work they have put into it. Each time they update it, it just gets better and better.

The most benefit I see coming out of this is a closer parity in 3rd party games.

It wouldn't matter if PS4 versions were much better than they were on X1 you would still buy it on X1. You picked your favorite and that is that. I have seen games on both and the better resolution and many times better foliage or lighting makes the PS4 the version for me. I don't play UIs or communities I play games.

DX12 is just a software upgrade it can't make a weaker GPU more powerful than a stronger one. What may happen to your advantage is that devs being the lazy cheapskates that they are may optimize for DX12 because it is more common being on PC and X1 then just do a lazy crap port to the PS4. Optimizing for the the PS4 API is more work and work is a 4 letter word to them. You may then get more Mad Max type things were it runs better on X1 due to X1/PC becoming the lead platform due to being more common and the PS4 gets the crappy quick port as an afterthought. For that reason you may see X1 catch up but it is not because of potential it is due to money and time. The PS4 will be under utilized while the X1/PC will be more optimized.

Yeah, not saying cuz of linux, but linux running on it is a 100% proof it is just cracked hard.

So, the day pirated games starts to work, the sales will increase.

Crazy how the people that claim MS constantly brags about DX12 and makes crazy promises about it...are the same people that immediately turn around and say "even Phil Spencer said it'd make no difference" ....which is it?

I think it will help, not necessarily directly in terms of FPS/Resolution...although it may affect those as well. The size of difference it makes relies more on things like PIX and how Devs take advantage of it. If used correctly, that allows X1 to have access to 6GB of information (textures) without using RAM in an instant with eSRAM...allowing RAM to be used for other things. Apparently PIX/DX12 make eSRAM performance 15% better.

Ps4 still has to match HALO D1080p 60FPS,FH2 1080p 30fps open world, and FMS6 1080p 60FPS, tomb raider all ready looks better than UC4 at 1080p 30FPS, and oh yes there's something called Quantum break that looks better than them all. PS4 has alot of work to do.

FH2: I think Need For Speed looks way better, and it's a fricking 3rd Party Game!

FMS6: Again, it can't compare Need For Speed in term of graphics, especially the lighting system. There's just something about the lighting system in Need For Speed that makes it look so good. Gameplay wise - different genre, so can't compare.

Quantum Break: Cutscenes look good, like all other next gen games. Not sure about in-game yet.

And come on dude, Tomb Raider was able to do all that with only 2 Compute Units on the Xbox One. PS4 has 8 Compute Units. It is only logical that PS4's version of Tomb Raider will look better.

Do you seriously think that they will rewrite Tomb Raider to use more CUs on the PS4? I don't, that would be WORK. I would bet it will be a quick sloppy port, we will be lucky if it runs as good as the X1 version. Now It COULD be better but you know those publishers, get it out for as little effort possible.

What I see happening is because when you add up all of the PCs plus the X1 base devs will all move over to games development with DX12 in mind and optimize for that. The PS4 will get unoptimized ports that underutilize the better GPU. It will become the oddball again like the PS3 cell was last gen. We saw how that worked out, X360 games almost always ran better. At best most DX12 games will run the same on PS4 at worst they will perform worse like Mad Max did. It has nothing to do with hardware and more to do with devs not wanting to spend the time and money to take advantage of different platforms.

That is true.

But when you are a games developer it isn't about wanting to spend time and money optimizing platforms, it is more a fact of economics that forces you to target many platforms. Simply no platform can give you enough sales to survive. You have to target many platforms so that you maximize your sales.

The devs will target the console with the largest fanbase first points invalid. It will nearly always be built to PS4 first to ensure largest profits. Seeing as that gap in console sales is only widening. Don't ever bank on your theory of devs wanting to choose your option over more money. It's not happening.
