Star Wars Battlefront Team Has Made Progress On Adding Online Modes To Offline Mode

WCCFT: Star Wars Battlefront, the latest game based on the popular Star Wars franchise developed by DICE, is all about the online multiplayer experience. The game’s offline mode is not as rich as the online one and so a few players have been asking DICE to add more content to the offline mode in the past few weeks and it seems like things are proceeding on the matter, judging from what has surfaced online today.

Really want a good shooter. Loaded up Crysis 3 on my new 5k monitor, the game looks jaw dropping.

Far Cry 4 is another game i have missed so bought that on the steam sale. Is Star Wars Battlefront any good? I know graphically its an amazing looking game specially on the PC.

Alexious3802d ago

It's pretty good, though it's best played in short bursts due to a certain lack of depth.

decrypt3802d ago

Think i saw origin with a discount on it lol. Ill take a look.

ShinMaster3801d ago (Edited 3801d ago )

The game doesn't offer much, so it's best to limit your play time to 2 hours a week with friends. 1 hour without friends.

ninsigma3802d ago

It's good fun and best when played with people. I don't use it as my main game, I'd recommend doing the same.

captainexplosion3802d ago (Edited 3802d ago )

WTF is a main game and why do people fill the need to pretentiously say it is best played in short burts?

ninsigma3802d ago

A game that I put most of my gaming hours into. At the moment that's the wind waker on wii u until I complete it. In between that I put an hour or 2 of battle front. Hence not my main game. And it's not pretentious. Clearly multiple people have found it's best played in parallel with other games rather than sinking all their gaming hours each day into battlefront alone. If you're happy enough playing only battle front, that's cool but there's nothing pretentious about people telling how they best enjoy the game.

Its a lot of fun and as you mentioned its very pretty and really captures the feel of the star wars universe perfectly. The single player is so light though that its barely worth mentioning and some people feel that it does not have enough content. It also lacks the depth of games like Battlefield.

You should buy it if you like fun multiplayer games that are pick up and play and good for short to medium bursts. You should not pick it up if you like your multiplayer games to also have a decent campaign.

Immorals3802d ago

Wouldn't pay more than £20 quid for it.

Beautiful looking and sounding, but gets stale VERY quickly

Spenok3802d ago

Personally I love it. It doesn't have nearly the lack of content/options people who likely have never played the game think. This game is another case where one person over exaggerated, and the general population accepted it as fact. So much so that when they play it they still don't see all it has to offer. It has more available then most online modes do at launch, and is incredibly fun. I know my opinion isn't the common one, but this game is damn fun, and even got my wife, who isn't a shooter fan into the game.

It's definitely best played with friends though. There are 10 game modes, and 13 maps. And according to Dice/EA they will be adding more for free, along with what will be added with the season pass. If you get it on your PC, be sure to get the "Real Life" mod. It's breathtaking.

Disregard all the hate, its a fun game,it plays great and looks great. The lack of content, that up to you to decide if it's still worth what they offer but they will add some free extra stuff and maps in the future on top of the season pass.

Scatpants3801d ago

Literally the only thing it has going for it is the graphics. It is lacking in every other category. You'd be better off playing Halo or COD.

Entonations3801d ago

I have no idea why pc comments get downvoted so much

:ucky, what type of gpu you packin to even run 5k lol?

decrypt3801d ago

Titan X in Sli, liquid cooled to 1500mhz. But even then games need to be tweaked to get 60fps, Some settings need to be turned down a bit.

That's good to know! I wouldn't really use it but glad they're listening to people.

T2X3802d ago

I know really. WTF. Any Online FPS NEEDS voice comms.

Immorals3802d ago

Especially when most of the modes require teamwork and coordination!

garrettbobbyferguson3802d ago

Not when the game is as mindless and casual as it is, no.

DLConspiracy3801d ago (Edited 3801d ago )

This gen has been all about party chat. I'm starting to wonder if games are getting cheap on the lobby chat anymore. Like they don't want to pay for chat servers or something. When they do have it in the game it barely works if at all. Is this them pushing people to use the consoles party chat? Feels like they are. Which is a shame since it takes away from some of the fun.

JONOBRAVO3801d ago

There is no comms because they want it accessible to everyone I.e. young kids. Parents won't have to worry about any trash talk.

ShadowKing-3802d ago

yeah screw voice when people can join parties, 40 people talking at the same time would be annoying considering there is not squad like feature.

instead they need to add where i can invite more friends as partners for online.

T2X3800d ago

It would only be 20, and half don't use it anyway. But, I wish they would just put it in there and let us decide if we want to use it.

Bolts3802d ago

Let's get real. The last thing this game need is voice chat. That is unless you want to hear an endless parade of assholes throwing out Star Wars quotes none stop.

ShadowKing-3799d ago (Edited 3799d ago )

has a point, he does
