My 5 biggest that I had bought this year.

1. Halo 5
2. Rise of the Tomb Raider
3. Witcher 3
4. Bloodborne
5. Forza 6

Other contenders that I also bought include: Fallout 4, Xenoblade X, Ori, Until Dawn, Mario Maker, Gears Ultimate, Helldivers, MGSV.

Erik73573796d ago (Edited 3796d ago )

In a lot of areas it is but in its multiplayer department its straight up miles more competetive and polished than other MP games.
You can tell they really wanted it to be centered around E sports and it has the biggest prize pool for e-sports out of any MP game.

THis is obviously a troll who has never played halo 5's mp.

It's forge is also spectacular and free DLC is something every game developer should look at 343 for inspiration.

I already known im going to get a bunch of disagrees from butt hurt sony fanboys that don't have such a great MP game like halo 5.

Realms3796d ago

My top 5

1. The Witcher 3 the GOTY
2. Bloodborne the best new IP
3. MGS 5 the best action game
4. Fallout 4 most anticipated game
5. Until Dawn sleeper hit of the year

Honorable mentions:

Xenoblade chronicles, Mario maker, Splatoon and Rocket league

Jalva3796d ago

100% agree with everything you said.

ShadowKnight3797d ago

Until Dawn was a sleeper hit!

Rookie_Monster3797d ago

Agreed. Got it a couple days ago and can't put it down. Really surprised me.

ShadowKnight3796d ago

Yup. Looking forward to a sequel if they decide to make one.

nosferatuzodd3796d ago

Why would some one disagree with you for liking until dawn ?

Rookie_Monster3796d ago (Edited 3796d ago )

@nosferatuzodd,

Great question and I also wonder that myself.

Most likely the disagrees are coming from people that don't agree with me that Until Dawn is a good game. It is not for everyone so I do understand where the disagrees are coming from just like I also have had gotten disagrees for saying I like Halo 5 or tomb raiders also. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. It happens but as long as I like it, that is what is important.

Cities Skylines, Mad Max, Black Ops 3 and Rocket League were all surprisingly fun games. Just picked up RS6 Siege and Witcher 3 on sale to cap off the year. Would have bought Battlefront for $35 as a Christmas present but EA in their infinite wisdom ended their sale Sunday at 10 pm EST. Who the hell does that? Should end it Monday around lunch time on the west coast. Their loss, I'll wait for a bigger sale. Can always play it at my friends house if I get the itch to play.

assdan3796d ago (Edited 3796d ago )

My top 5 from this year probably goes.
Bloodborne
MSGSV
Until dawn
fallout 4
rocket league.
And I cannout stress how under rated I thing until dawn was.

PaulFiend3796d ago (Edited 3796d ago )

1. Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)
2. Yakuza 5 (PS3)
3. Dying Light (PC)
4. Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4, and PC eventually)
5. Until Dawn (PS4)

Have not finished yet and not sure if I ever will: Bloodborne (PS4), The Witcher 3 (PC), MGS V (PC). Great games but, I dunno...

Also, the disappointment of the year prize goes to Halo 5 (X1) (excluding MP, BUT including co-op). Still better than Halo 4, though.

Honorable mention: Mad Max (PC).

Erik73573796d ago

YEa halo 5 was pretty bad but its multiplayer is pretty damn good. Defiantly one of the best mp halo has ever had.

The actor who portrayed Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher series of games has died

Alexander Morton, the Scottish actor probably best known for starring in British comedy drama Monarch of the Glen - but known to me for being the hilariously foul-mouthed dwarf Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 - has died aged 81.

Sony Pictures Produces Animated Film of Bloodborne Game

Sony Pictures announced at CinemaCon on Monday that it is producing an animated R-rated film adaptation of FromSoftware's Bloodborne game. PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and YouTuber jacksepticeye (Seán McLoughlin) are producing the film, with Sony Pictures and Lyrical Animation parent company Lyrical Media co-financing the film.

Anything but a sequel or remaster I suppose.

CantThinkOfAUsername35d ago

Hopefully this will renew interest in the franchise and Sony can see the potential.

jznrpg35d ago

I’m sure for a sequel they would want to get Miyazaki for it and he’s a busy person, They could do it without him but he wouldn’t be happy with that and I doubt they want to upset him. Hopefully it lines up with his schedule. Who knows they could be working on it now but I won’t get my hopes up until something is announced.

Lionsguard35d ago

At this point, I'm expecting Sony to endorse Yaoi fan-fic before they even entertain the idea of a remaster or sequel or even just a PS5 upgrade.

gerbintosh35d ago

You must have missed the story where FromSoftware stated they do not want to make a sequel or remaster of Bloodborne.

But then again, maybe Sony should force them to remaster the game because people who are forced to do things they dont like always put their best effort in. /s

So FromSoftware really went

“F*** no are Bluepoint making a remake”

To

“A YouTuber making an animated film? Of course”

Redgrave35d ago

Say what you will about Jacksepticeye's involvement, but I suppose it comes down to how much creative freedom he has in making it.

Iron Lung, while not exactly in the same conversation as Bloodborne, was a perfectly serviceable and quite well made adaptation made by a YouTuber.

Jack at least understands the fan base and such so if he doesn't experience too much corporate interference or what you may call it, it could turn out pretty good.

MrBaskerville35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

Wasn't it Markiplier that made Iron Lung?

And there's more to filmmaking and storytelling than understanding a fanbase. I want a good movie. Maybe he can do it, maybe he can't, we'll see. But i expect nothing.

Tapani35d ago

What are you on about? Sony owns the IP, not FromSoftware. They have zero say in what is done with Bloodborne.

-Foxtrot35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

No but it’s been said how they apparently didn’t want Bluepoint touching the game and Sony respecting their wishes

Michiel198935d ago

oh the youtuber/streamer hate is back, i knew it before i read the comments. So fucking pathetic, acting like they aren't humans and can't do anything right.

-Foxtrot35d ago

Lmao. Ooooft. Touched a nerve 😂

Michiel198935d ago

not really, its just that the same old tale gets repeated and repeated by a bunch people who have contributed nothing to the gaming industry and just mindlessly hate someone else who is actually trying to do something cool, but it can't be because they're a streamer/youtuber in your twisted mind.

-Foxtrot35d ago

Producing a film still puts you in the driving seat, you are responsible for so many things including picking the director, writer and the entire team to make it.

Making / producing, regardless, it’s still a big role.

gold_drake35d ago

to be fair, hes not making it per se.

and i guess hes a good fit for it, given how big of a fan he is

Cause they play NBA2k26, COD and gamepass

Fishy Fingers60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

3x less sales than Playstation.
3x less consoles sold than Playstation.

Per captita, it averages out that the same number of users are buying CDP games regardless of platform, no?

Bathyj60d ago

The exact same or possibly more because a series S, initial investment and effort to Port to Xbox consoles for a third of the return.

Simply not worth it

LMGk59d ago

“ Simply not worth it”

And yet, basically every game comes to Xbox.

NotoriousWhiz59d ago (Edited 59d ago )

A third is a pretty big number to be honest. Like would you rather make 15 million or 20 million? That's the difference that a third makes.

GamingSinceForever60d ago

Hey it’s ok. They are really impressed with XBOx’s new CEO so exclusivity is on the way. 😂

Loktai60d ago

Ok but I mean be logical ... modern PC, Switch, PS4 PS5 then you have XBOX, of all of those XBOX is probably only 10 percent... I mean, what do you expect? 10 percent increase in sales is still nothing to sneeze at, remember - this is CD projekt red and they sell a lot of software. 10 percent of their sales is probably what most studios DREAM of selling .... just playing devils advocate..... its easy to say LOL haha XBOX.... but.. I mean we know what it is at this point. I havent bought on since my xbox one X and before that I only used other peoples xboxes since the OG XBOX and stick with PC and Playstation and switch OLED, but .. I mean.... theres nothing WRONG with an xbox considering its just not the best - but they work fine. make no mistake.
