Games like Fallout, Mass Effect, and Fable are some examples of games that pride themselves on the player's choices and how it affects the game's world itself. But it seems that in recent years, the weight behind these decisions and how it changes the player have not been at the forefront of developers' minds. After playing Undertale, I realized how RPGs have gone from morally and mentally challenging experiences to games that feel hollow and empower the character rather than the player.

The Fallout Exhibit in Las Vegas is offering fans a limited Edition Bottlecap during a special event.

Bioware writes: "Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe."
I expected nothing and I'm still disappointed
Like with Fallout, it's starting to feel studios are using TV / Film adaptations when they have no game info to talk about.
So the TV show will take place after the OG trilogy. I wonder which ending they’ll use?
Should’ve just posted a picture of an Elcor saying “regretfully, we have nothing to share.”

A new Fallout exhibition has been revealed for fans.
Mass effect 2 and 3 are not RPGs, they are third person shooters.
Seems like it. Shooters with RPG elements.
On the other hand Todd Howard(Bethesda) said that more games are picking up RPG elements such as Call of Duty with XP and leveling up
@TheColbertinator I am in much agreement with you re: shooters with rpg elements. They have taken a lot of the most important elements to give them something to strive for instead of just point and shoot, over and over. Shooters can be fun too when the story is written well, but I prefer rpg games overall.
This article seems to be mistitled, having more to do with morality systems than the definition of a role-playing game. And ultimately, it just reads like a plug for Undertale. I'm sure Undertale is a fine game, but I don't appreciate mislabeled content. Better titles for the piece: "How Undertale Gets Morality Systems Right" or "How An Indie Title Outshines Every AAA Choice-Driven RPG". Not so hard.
Nah sounds like you just enjoyed the undertale story.
Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 the crowning rpg`s of 2015.
There as rpg as you can get.
Both have morale implications to all choices you take.
