X1 holds its own rather well. PC has better quality textures, more vibrant foliage etc.

Game does look lush though.

Sm00thNinja3793d ago

Please don't act like you watched the video game looks identical on both platforms

Perjoss3793d ago

I've played it on both XB1 and PC and it does NOT look identical, not even close. Lighting on XB1 is actually very nice but its running at some crazy low resolution, it looks sub 720p. I think the UI needs a lot of work too as its not very controller friendly right now. Something to remember though is the game is not finished on either platform.

FITgamer3793d ago (Edited 3793d ago )

Sorry no, Xbox version looks like it's 480p. It's blurry as all hell.

Look at 1:48. Does that really look "identical" to you?
Maybe on a 3 inch screen.

I would agree the textures of the PC version definitely are better but as you noted the X1 version looks really good all things considered. Also, it would be interesting to note how the X1 performance is compared to the PC as I had heard the X1 version was better optimized than the PC version and that the optimizations from the X1 are going to be applied to the PC version. I wonder if part of that optimization on PC may be a reduction on some of the textures used?

Either way this is an intriguing title.... looking forward to giving the demo a go this weekend.

Septics a pretty fair guy. He has defended the X1 several times, why would he be inclined to say something negative now?

ThePope3793d ago

Nope. I meant fair. I would have stated otherwise if I meant otherwise.

Utalkin2me3793d ago

First off the PC version is totally unoptimized and the Xbox version is optimized.

@Sm00thNinja

If you think there is no difference then you really need to have your eyes checked. Xb1 is missing all the ground clutter and has a much lower texture resolution. I mean pretty much everything is of course better on Pc from water to shadows etc. And it should be. Just wait till it gets the key update for directx 12 and some better optimization.

Sm00thNinja3792d ago

I may have to look on a larger screen on my note 5 they look identical

BallsEye3793d ago

XO will still get an upgrade, according to dev. People forget this is almost a year away still. What XO needs atm is resolution upgrade, other than that it's great. I love it runs around 50 fps most of time for me on private servers.

AngelicIceDiamond3793d ago

PC clearly takes it. X1 does hold up quite well however.

Apollosupreme3792d ago (Edited 3792d ago )

Honestly, I don't get why it's a shock to anyone that the PC version is going to look nicer and run better. Better hardware almost always leads to better results... I mean there are exceptions but those cases tend to involve a console game ported to PC. The PC version will only continue to widen after it gets into a lot of hands. It's the nature of PC gaming and this is not meant to knock consoles as I love consoles and play consoles.

TheXgamerLive3793d ago

Sad, that again So called Sony fans run in here only to try to put down the Xbox One version. Little boys leave ALL Xbox post, your continuous negative comments aren't wanted.
N4G sadly needs to fix this fanboy site and keep people in their on sides
The current set up is a failure. This post and every Xbox post is a prime example.

Sony fanboys = The embarrassment of the gaming. Community. Atleast on N4G anyways.

Pixelart3792d ago (Edited 3792d ago )

Yeah N4G has a pretty poor rep for ps4 Fanboyism. You can't call a spade a spade around here and too many people get offended since they exclusively stick to 1 platform.

Utalkin2me3792d ago

@Sm00thNinja

I watched it off my Galaxy 5 and i could still tell a big difference.

I mean that link above, regardless what size screen you're using you can still stuff is missing in a big way.

The graphics are fine on Xbox One.... the resolution on the other hand is VASELINEp....

Fatdrinkofwater3793d ago

I agree the graphics are great but the res needs a bump. Im sure it will be higher res when the game is finishd. Its still pretty far away. And already its running 35-50fps

HOOHAARR3793d ago

Played it for 10 mins on xbox yesterday and the graphics looked dreadful

BallsEye3793d ago

Graphics are really good. Only resolution is low, which will be upgraded later (official statement from Ark, check twitter).

HOOHAARR3793d ago (Edited 3793d ago )

They really aren't and the complete lack of AA doesn't help either, everything shimmers! The animation on the animals is poor too! They don't even look 'very good' in the video!!
