As for the ground texture, Mr.Armchair dev, in this case lighting doesn't have anything to do with the bitmap texture visible on the ground. If it would be "normal map" (look it up, probably that's what you mean by texture mapping, which is completely different thing, and yea, I work as a 3D/2D artist) it would be displayed in a completely different way. Same as PC version. Whoever did the video comparison chose such spot on purpose, to imply that xbox one version is so bad. In reality, it's just different positioning of a textue. That's about it. Now get lost from Xbox one articles. While you'll finally be able to play ark in a year, I'll move to other, better games.

Oh yea, and I've never said XO is a wonder machine as powerful as $3k pc machine. I do have a monster PC with 3 monitors connected to it (need it for my work) and I am aware of how the game looks on ultra settings. XO holds it's own, and I preffer to play that version cause of my friends on xbox live.

This is not an Xbox One article. It's an ARK: Survival Evolved article which happens to be available on PC, Xbox One and coming to PS4 next year. You said something silly, so I responded. I'm allowed to comment on whatever article I want and this is a multiplatform game, and it doesn't belong to you or Microsoft. I know you feel entitled, I know you ACTUALLY believe that the PS4 won't be getting split-screen when it comes out, but none of that has any grounding on what I have said. The PS4 version - based on the history of mulitplatform performance this generation - will likely look and run better. Nothing laughable about that assumption. Meanwhile, the PSVR assumption might not even be laughable either. The PSVR headset comes with an external processing box for good reason. You might want to bear that in mind before writing off what PSVR will or won't be able to do.

In regards to the texture mapping discussion, and that video you provided me. Those sand texture details are absolutely flat and APPALLING compared to the PC version. Yet you said they have the same detail. Nothing comparable to the PC version. Are you for real?

And the whole, "I'll be moving on to other better games". Good for you. & good for you, on telling me which version you prefer. I will still have access to that game on the PS4's library next year. If you're genuinely thinking that offends me, you might need to re-check which console has more games and better rated games. I'll also be moving on to other, better games next year too, whilst also having access to a VR-enabled version of ARK, which you kindly beta tested the incomplete version for me. And since it's a multiplayer game that is supposed to last for years, don't see how picking this game up at any moment this generation (particularly just 8 months afterwards) is a bad thing. Sorry.

I have bookmarked your comments that try and suggest that there is "no chance on earth this will run on PS VR", despite the devs officially announcing it, or that the PS4 version won't be getting split-screen. Don't think you really have room to laugh at me here, buddy!

Can you even read with understanding? Did I EVER said it looks like ultra PC settings? No wonder I get bubbled down so fast. You kids need to go back to school and learn basics of reading. Xbox One version holds it's own. Except resolution, it's custom medium-high settings (as stated by developers, but you probably gonna say developers don't own the game) with much lower image resolution (probably 720p in early access).

Cause first off it doesnt have Ultra settings. And again as i pointed out the first time, Even a titan can not run this game full tilt and be even remotely playable, due to lack of optimization. For a optimized Xbox1 version VS a un optimized PC version, it looks OK. But not even close to the PC version, i have 400 hours into the PC version of ark.

P.S. If it is running at Medium/High settings how is the comparable to Epic? I can tell a huge difference in epic and medium settings and not even close.

Ultra refers to highest settings possible, no matter the game. Just go google ARK ULTRA SETTINGS and see the number of results. It's most common way to call it so don't try to play smart@ss. Again, your next comment proves that you fail to read with understanding, completely missing the point, seeing only what you want to see and bashing XO version just for the heck of it. 400 hours in a video game sounds exciting. It obviously gives you more technical credibility...as I'm too busy man, to spend even 1/5 of what you do on playing this year, I bow to your experience and knowledge...I'm just a mere human.

That's funny. I just went to the Steam store page and "Studio Wildcard" is listed as the publisher of ARK: Survival Evolved. If you want to point me towards where the PC community is publishing the game, then by all means.

On a 55" LED, I'm taking the highier resolution everytime. When you own all the consoles you have choices in your gaming life instead of being shackled to one console. My gaming life has never been easier owning all the consoles.

Sorry what I am saying is simple, the community is PUBLISHING the game; therefore, the community will decide what features to add/subtract, edit the game. If this game was published by EA or Activision then yes the game will be the same on all platforms.

That's what early access is, my bad the community co-publishes the game. Why do you think game developers are asking nowadays for money to fund their game (which is not finished yet). Not because they are greedy, but because the game developer does not have enough money to finish the game and no mainstream game publisher (EA, Activision) is not willing to publish the game. This is were the community comes in: funds the game but the community also edits, subtracts/adds features to the game, test the game and markets the game. That's called an investment (the community is taking a 50/50 risk on whether the 🎮 fails/succeed s). Is not that co-publishing or better yet producer. No gamer is going to buy an unfinished game without having a say in how the proyect develops. Just like Kickstarter it rewards gamers for crowdfunding the game, but the gamer receives emails on how the proyect is developing but also the game developer continually asks what the gamer wants to see in the game. Is a new concept, we need to get used to it, but also understand this new concept. For too long we gamers have depended on game developers/publishers to deliver a COMPLETE GAME. In this day and age developers are depending on gamers to co-publish/produce their games. The developers have lots of interesting/wacky game ideas;however, the mainstream publishers do not want to publish/produce say gaming proyect. So the community takes over the gaming proyect......
