For a game that is extremely heavy for PC users this game runs really damn well on Xbox One. Just shows what good optimization does.

_LarZen_3803d ago

Try explaining that to a PC fanboy.

Sorry to disappoint a console fanboy like yourself but the only "magical optimization" I see in the Xbox One version is that they lowered the resolution to 720p(multiple streamers have confirmed this), switched off all forms of AA, and put the settings to low/med. They even removed most of the physics in the game. It also has horrible screen tearing. Game looks and runs much better on my PC.

I couldn't hear you sorane..laughing to hard.

Good to know you have ZERO comeback to my post. Not like you could even argue anything I've said anyways since it's 100% complete facts.

The thing is sorane. That ARK can run like crap on PC. Don't matter if you have a beast of a machine. Because the game is so badly optimized that it will still run as a warm turd.

If you are lucky you can however get the performance you should. But so many are clearly not. Because it's horrible optimized for the wide range of hardware configurations that is on PC.

Sure the game is scaled down on the XBO. But even that setting can perform much much worse on PC then the XBO version shown. And that with much more power on the PC.

Why? Because the game is optimized like a turd. And if we look past ARK. Then there are games running on XBO and PS4 that looks stunning and that would run like a warm turd on most PC's because the games are optimized for consoles compared to the jungle of PC hardware configurations. It's like playing the lottery at times as a PC gamer.

Will the game start? Will it crash? Have they optimized it for PC and my hardware configuration?

And the list goes on. After playing on PC's for the last two decades it's clear it's not getting better at all. We are getting more and more powerful hardware but the devs are just pissing it away because in the big picture PC gaming really don't matter that much.

The big money is earned by millions of console gamers. Something that is clearly shown as consoles are 98% of the time the benchmark for how a game is made and ends up.

Something the most hardcore PC fanboys cant get trough their thick headed skulls. So that Youtube video is just perfect.

"Sure the game is scaled down on the XBO. But even that setting can perform much much worse on PC then the XBO version shown. And that with much more power on the PC."

I haven't seen that at all. I've played it on my old amd 280 with a 7 year old i7 and it runs and looks far better than the Xbox One version and that's at 1080p.

"Then there are games running on XBO and PS4 that looks stunning and that would run like a warm turd on most PC's because the games are optimized for consoles compared to the jungle of PC hardware configurations. It's like playing the lottery at times as a PC gamer."

What are these games because I can't think of one where I've thought it couldn't run and look the same on a simple i3 with a 750ti. Just read some digital foundry faceoffs and you'll easily see that combo performs as good or better than a ps4. You mention some jungle of PC hardare configs, but it sounds like you don't know what apis are.

"And the list goes on. After playing on PC's for the last two decades it's clear it's not getting better at all. We are getting more and more powerful hardware but the devs are just pissing it away because in the big picture PC gaming really don't matter that much."

That whole paragraph is just 100% false and you don't sound like you've ever touched a gaming PC.

"The big money is earned by millions of console gamers. Something that is clearly shown as consoles are 98% of the time the benchmark for how a game is made and ends up."

Another 100% false paragraph. The biggest games in the world are all on PC which is why pretty much every developer is flocking to the platform. Was funny reading all the crying ps4 fanboys when they realized Kojimas new game wasn't a ps4 exclusive today :)

@below

Ahh yes can't argue any of my facts so again with the post that shows how little you know about the subject I'm trying to have with you. This is way too easy. Maybe study up on the subject before coming back to post. At least find a video that is remotely funny or truthful. I guess that's too much to ask though.

_LarZen_3802d ago

Deny it and it's not real! That's the PC fanboys motto. LOL

This video should be posted after all comments from that side of the PC community.

Typical survival game, it punches you in the face for the first hour or 2 but then once it clicks you realize how awesome it is.
