DTOID:
Dementium was originally pitched by Renegade Kid to Konami as a proof of concept for a Silent Hill game on the Nintendo DS. Konami turned them down and thus we ended up with Dementium: The Ward on the DS instead, which performed well enough to warrant a sequel.
Prior to now I had never played the original games, but I figured if it was good enough to get a remaster, surely I'd like it?

Reviews 2 Go just finished up the 3DS remake of Dementium: The Ward. Here are their final thoughts:
"Dementium Remastered is every bit as creepy as the original game was on the DS. While the repetitive environments and wonky controls don’t do the game any favors, the improvements and new features make it a worthy purchase for horror fans. "

An abandoned hospital? Blood on the walls? Zombie monsters? Creepy little girls? Mad doctors? Never seen any of that before!

Nintendojo: "Dementium Remastered reminds me of some of Nintendo’s more recent remakes in that it doesn’t go too far trying to reinvent the wheel."
You call this a review?
I am not even talking of the score, which is far from unfair by any stretch of the imagination.
But actually click on the link and read the review.
It's anything but.
Destructoid used to be something of at least a bit of respect. This is pathetic.
Come on, was it needed to submit this mess of a review to N4G?
Destructoid in 2915 is the new Kotaku/Polygon. Don't give them extra clicks. This "review" is not worth reading it, it only caused a lot of discussion there because the very bad and unfair score for this game by Jed Whitaker. One of the worst writers that are currently allowed to write clickbait articles on big gaming sites.
I played the original on DS and loved it and its sequel.
