No Resident Evil 7? No Deep Down?? No Resident Evil 2 Remake???

Come on Capcom, give us something!

Still hoping for Onimusha.

JMaine5183806d ago

I wouldn't expect them to say anything about those games until they come on the big stage. Gotta save some of the excitement

DarkOcelet3806d ago

Capcom have been quite for some time now. Lets hope they give us some amazing surprises.

Godmars2903806d ago

Considering how long Deep Down has been in development, when it was first announced and what its suppose to represent, the game should be out already nevermind not being shown off at a presentation like this.

MrSec843806d ago

Capcom definitely needs to show something new of Deep Down, something that shows exactly what's taking them so long to make this game!

I know they made statements back in March or May that it was undergoing big changes and the scope of the project had expanded, but they should have new gameplay and details to reveal.

Here's hoping, especially with all of the love games like Souls have been getting.
With Ni-Oh and maybe this it would make sense for Sony to double down on these kinds of games IMO.

bouzebbal3806d ago

exactly.. people really don't get what a conference is about.
In my wildest imagination i want a new Dino Crisis and Breath of Fire, but that ain't happening!

PS4XBOXONEPC3806d ago

i was wondering too what's going on with deep down

Palitera3806d ago

Maybe the trend passed and they realized that crappy F2P schemes aren't enough to keep big AAA games alive.

Even if this is not the case, to me it is a fact, a damn great excellent one, that F2P stopped infectating AAA games recently.

Great news for us. AAA F2P = crap.

Sevir3806d ago

They've gone back to developing the game as the scope and the premise of it has changed and expanded... My guess is that it's no longer a free to play game and very much a full on block buster AAA game. We should probably look forward to Seeing it at E3 next year. We know Sony is heavily involved in this game

guyman3806d ago

I don't freaking understand people on this site, Palitera's comment makes so much sense yet ONLY has disagrees (except for my agree). I fully agree with you Palitera and I hope that's the case with deep down

SweatyFlorida3806d ago

Deep Down in the trash bin of games that simply had a short neat idea but couldn't flush out the game and fill it with substance enough to make it exciting or good.

I think it's dead, and was merely something to test on a new and shiny engine. Let's hope they use it fo Dogma 2 if the PC version of DD does good as well as online does good. with Miyazaki admitting DkS3 might be the last, they certainly can fill the western styled dark fantasy void with DD2.

ColonelHugh3806d ago

Capcom keeps pushing it... deep down.

twinspectre19903806d ago

well these games are playable on the Capcom's Booth,
we don't know if Capcom will announce something at the PSX stage.

KwietStorm_BLM3806d ago

They didn't announce Street Fighter V before the show last year, but then the internet happened.

oasdada3806d ago

Re2 remake or dino crisis for me and im good.. and deep down no more a f2p and has a proper campaing?! Yes please

AnotherProGamer3806d ago

Would make no sense to reveal a big secret so formally before the event

scark923806d ago

I wonder how Resident 7 will turn out, hope its not another Resi 6.

AizenSosuke3806d ago

I know the feels right now, I need that RE7 epicness.

_-EDMIX-_3806d ago

? lol Dark, Dark...I appreciate your fandom of Onimusha as its a rare gem and its clear many on here are not about said life, but we've been through this before.

Announcing a line up will never actually show what is 100% at the show.

I mean...did Square announce FFVII remake through its line up at E3 before the event? Keep hope alive!

DarkOcelet3806d ago

Well, they technically did announce it with the troll announcement of FFVII PS4 version lol.

_-EDMIX-_3806d ago

lol you mean the HD one? Square be trolling!

Genuine-User3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

Resident Evil 7 and Remake will most probably get reveal trailers at PSX.

Where the fudge is Deep Down though?!

gangsta_red3806d ago

Capcom is not going to announce any new games before the event. Not through any press or tweet, no company does that.

MasterCornholio3806d ago

I want to see more Deep Down.

And as for a new resident evil exclusive to the PS4.............

LOL Just kidding about the last part.

KuroKazuma3806d ago

why should they mention Resident Evil 7??
you don't know how this "line ups" work, dont you?

XanderZane3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

I would gladly take a new Maximo game or a real Dragon Dogma sequel over any of this stuff they are showing. Even a Viewtiful Joe or Power Stone game would get me excited. What ever happened to Deep Down? Thought it would come out this year.

nitus103806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

They are supposed to be making a Dragon's Dogma 2 but I haven't heard much about it. Hopefully DD 2 will have more interesting quests as well as more randomized items and enemies. It would also be nice to have the capability of item creation such as amour, weapons or spells

One thing that I found absolutely useless in the original DD was the so called difficulty level. I actually played on the hardest setting and even my first enemy fights were giving me so much money that after a few of them I found I had so much money that there was nothing to spend it on.

Fortunately they did keep DLC to a minimum (in the Pawn guild) but nothing they had was all that interesting anyway.

Fin_The_Human3806d ago

Deep Down needed a full over haul after seeing what Blood Borne offered.

My_Outer_Heaven3806d ago

This isn't E3. The bigger announcements will most likely be from First party exclusives.

Heyxyz3806d ago

I think they'll announce Resident Evil 6 "Remastered," this is Capcom after all...

DarkOcelet3806d ago

I would mind RE6 Remaster alongside RE7 reveal.

DeadlyFire3805d ago

Well they did grab a new trademark for it.......

i'm still waiting on resident evil portable for the psp.

PS4XBOXONEPC3806d ago (Edited 3806d ago )

I was joking lol ...still sad though it never came out

Eidolon3806d ago

Well the PSOne classic works well on PSP, and I'd rather see Resident Evil HD remaster on PS Vita.

ABizzel13806d ago

It did come...I believe all of the PSOne games were ported

XD

rezzah3806d ago

DMC was suppose tot come to the PSP, but capcom eventually dumped the project.

although i can't wait to have resident evil 0 & 1 remasters on disc

slappy5083806d ago

no Deep Down? I take it theyve flushed it down the toilet

MegaRay3806d ago

You could say, its buried deep down. Ill show myself the door...

scark923806d ago

Il escort you,as I respect you.

PizzaSteve3806d ago

I think they held off on Deep Down to focus on SFV since it's a more well known franchise. Deep Down may come 2017 I guess.

WeAreLegion3806d ago

PLEASE announce Devil May Cry 5 soon.

RiseofScorpio3806d ago

Exclusive to PS4 would be a megaton.

rezzah3806d ago

Capcom chases money so it is likely due to the success of the PS4 worldwide.

Take note, Sony, you're falling behind by a lot.

-Foxtrot39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

I was just going to say this, their biggest and top rated game here is TLOU2 for PC….it’s embarrassing.

Even Ubisoft and EA are ahead

Kind of surprised Nintendo is pretty low aswell, their biggest game is also a rerelease with the Switch 2 version of TotK.

StoneColdCrazy39d ago

That’s what happens when you start shutting down your own studios and forget what actually made you matter in the industry in the first place. Sony used to set the standard — now it feels like they’ve lost that identity. And if they decide to walk away from the PC market too, that’s going to be another huge mistake — that platform is only growing, and ignoring it now would just put them even further behind.

1Victor39d ago

@christopher:” Take note, Sony, you're falling behind by a lot.”
.
Why single out Sony? Microsoft didn’t do any better than the year before 5th same as Sony 9th and they have acquired activision and other mayor titles that have boosted their score massively from a 9th and Sony a 4th the year before the acquisitions.
Sony does need to do better without a doubt and I do hope they do take note but not the note of buying publishers is the way to succeed.

Christopher39d ago

1. Microsoft didn't get worse.
2. Sony got way worse.
3. Because Sony needs the criticism the most considering their publishing output this generation has been propped up by last gen ports and third-party developers for the most part.

39d ago
thesoftware73039d ago

1Victor,

I don't wanna speak for Christopher, but like most of us we recognize that Sony's output this Gen has been way below their own standards.

Also Sony did buy a fair amount of Devs, I know you will say they were not publishers, and don't compare in size, but they had their fair share of Aquisitions, including the very well established Bungie.

The overall point is with their stellar first party track record of the past, they should not be going down, they are singled out because they are some of the best videogame devs/publisher on the planet...no matter what reasons we attribute to the situation, they are moving in the wrong direction... period.

39d ago
KyRo39d ago

Its widely accept that Sony this generation has been underwhelming. We've had more peripheral releases, controller variants, PS5 accessories than games it feels like. The exclusives were also PS4 and what little output they have put exclusively on PS5 is nowhere near as memorable as what came in every generation before that.

This isn't a Sony hate post but anyone who's older and has been around for a long time gaming will agree that PS5 is by far Sony's worst generation. As much as Xbox is in the gutter, I pray the do bounce back in the hope we get Sony to wake up again.

darthv7238d ago (Edited 38d ago )

If you want to critique MS... you are doing so towards their management. The games output and their hardware have been much better than PS this gen. Sadly... people still hold a grudge against XB because of MS. Thankfully i am not that petty... I've been enjoying their games output in the drought of PS. And add in some NS1/2 games as well to balance things out. Things will change for me once Wolverine hits, and I start using my 5 more. That one I'm looking forward to. And the Marvel fighter... I'm not a GTA player so that has no bearing on my view of things.

Big part of that has been the live service push resulting in cancellation or flop after flop but when they put out the games their fans want we get amazing stuff like astro bot

Leadership really screwed the pooch trend chasing

Well I apologize I was wrong about not doing worse but my statement of Microsoft getting a boost still stand 🤷🏿

39d ago
1Victor39d ago

Well OBSCURED unlike you I’m honorable enough to recognize when I’m wrong and apologize.
.
@ The software you know there’s no comparison between what Microsoft acquired and what Sony acquired that’s why you tried to get ahead of the conversation, yes we all know Sony can do better than what they have done this gen but they inhaled the poison GAS they thought would bring money for years but we make sure they got the message and quite a few games got cancelled you know as well a hit like that take years to be corrected and by now they hopefully will have taken steps away from the GAS and slowed their approach to them.

You will say anything when you are in denial that your hardware is dead and nobody wants your platform. Good luck with Helix because nobody will buy it.

But... but... the garbage-mongers always tell us that Square Enix is in trouble! 😂

Christopher39d ago

Square doesn't help that it fear mongers itself with ridiculous 'goals' that they can't reach and then they proclaim failure if they don't reach it. They're quite freaking profitable and people act like they're dying.

SimulationDaily39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

Keep in mind that these "proclamations" are usually third-hand bad translations from somedude who was at the investor conference, posted on Twitter, and picked up by press and youtubers like they were gold, and then when the official translation comes out, they're much softer statements, but at that point, the damage is done.

gold_drake39d ago

to be very fair

being number one on these things does not indicate how "well" their games do selling wise.

Capcom Insists It Won't Use AI-Generated Assets in Its Games, Will Harness Tech during Development

Capcom has clarified its current stance on generative AI in its videogames. The major Japanese publisher and developer behind popular series like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter has revealed that while it doesn't use gen-AI assets in their games, it is exploring ways to use generative AI to streamline the game development process.

Chocoburger40d ago

Using Artificial Intelligence (more like Realistic Stupidity) art assets in your games is a great way to get people to boycott your product. We don't need that ugly, unsophisticated, generic, fake art in our games, good on CAPCOM for not using that garbage.

blacktiger40d ago

Naw you can't fool us, You work with Nvidia, that's a fact! And here you wanted to advertise but now look stupid!
