I think it's interesting that PS+ is only giving out the first chapter this month. If only they waited a little bit!

dead_pixels3836d ago

Agreed. In any case, I can't wait to plow through the first chapter today so that I'm ready to go in just over two weeks.

I'm really glad that this exists. It's a faithful reincarnation of King's Quest without the BS that would make a game like that frustrating in a modern context.

While I really am enjoying this new game, I still miss the older style of the games. Also whoever thought episodic was a good idea is a moron and they are releasing these too slow (like all episodic games) and whoever thought to rip off the ending of the game as a preorder incentive was a bigger moron than the guy who thought episodic was a good idea.

Agreed. That's why I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on Thimbleweed Park whenever that finally ends up seeing the light of day.

Glad that we're getting the first chapter for free on PS+ this month, it'll give lots of people a first taste before they buy this next chapter!

King’s Quest: Chapter Two – Rubble Without A Cause Review | TXH

Gareth writes "Imagine you go out on a blind date with that special someone. The date is a huge success, it’s much better then you ever imagined and you really are having the best of times. Then the next day comes and you hear nothing; the date doesn’t ring back, text or communicate in any bloody way what so ever. A week passes, a month passes and you’ve forgotten all about them, until six months later you bump into them at Tesco’s, they wink at you, and you forget the last six months of waiting to jump straight back into the adventure. I’m mixing a lot of metaphors there but that’s exactly how I feel after the lengthy wait between chapters one and two of Kings Quest."

It's a shame it took so long but seems like it was worth the wait.

At least one favourable review. Most others were not so kind.

Ozmoses3787d ago

Yeah the wait in between episodes is atrocious..

But other than that I think it is a solid game so far. It has all the charm and flair that the older King's Quest games had.

I just hope the rest of the episodes come in a timely fashion.

King's Quest: Rubble Without a Cause Review | Polygon

Polygon:
King's Quest brings back the adventure game series created by Roberta Williams in the 1980s. Published under the old Sierra name, this revival by developer The Odd Gentlemen takes the form of an episodic adventure game.
