Rainbow Six: Siege’s Last Beta Suggests A Problematic Release

Pixelgate.co.uk writes:

''This weekend saw the final ‘Beta’ (at this point, Beta is just a buzzword misused to mean Demo by Ubisoft) for Rainbow Six: Siege. The latest entry into one of Ubisoft’s most favoured franchises, Siege has a fair amount buzz surrounding it. Not all the buzz has been positive, with questionable Season Passes and Micro-transactions coming under fire.''

They shouldn't have scraped Rainbow Six Patriots. That game looked amazing.

We already have tons of MP games, we could use more good SP campaigns.

To be fair, Siege is quite fun (though Terrorist hunt is 100% not Terrorist hunt in any shape or form, but that's for another post). It doesn't feel or play like a Rainbow Six game. It's pretty much an entirely new IP they slapped the Rainbow name on for easy marketing.

There's a lot to talk about in the Beta in terms of good/bad. This is just a heads up.

It feels much more like a Rainbow Six game to me than the Vegas series ever did. It's not perfect but it feels about as close to the original games that any AAA developer would dare venture in 2015 anyway.

Siege does actually have a pretty good MP, it's especially fun with friends but I agree they shouldn't have scrapped the SP of Patriots, that would have been a great addition to this game. I really liked the look of it too.

i liked the game, although the servers aren't good. The most fun i had with a mp shooter since cs1.6. I never had problems with uplay invites like the article states, also, he says that the servers are fine. They aren't.

pompombrum3846d ago

It might be a bumpy start but one well worth the ride for certain shooter fans. It feels like forever since I played such an intense mp shooter. The 1v1s where you're literally holding you breath because you're scared the enemy will hear you before seeing you.. it's been far too long since I experienced that and it's scarier than any horror game I've ever played.

No dedicated servers its P2P. Really fun game, but not worth $60 with no dedicated servers.

vanity293846d ago

Yeah im with you on that. I might bite at 50.

solar3845d ago

i think $30 would be my limit mr. vanity.

Salooh3846d ago

you should try 5vs1 and you still win. You hear your heart lol. That's why i love games like these..

pompombrum3846d ago

Haha i won a 3v1 in my first ever round. Very easy at first as everyone was spraying as if they were playing COD and hitting air. 5 v 1 though would be intense. I remember some epic matches on Ravenshield being the last man alive and using the heartbeat sensor.

Well it's not every day a company provides a warning to not buy their product. Thanks for the warning Ubisoft, we appreciate it..

If anything this last beta/demo confirmed my disinterest in this game. I like the idea but the execution is somewhat off.
