Despite all of it's notable flaws, Fallout 4 was greeted with praise and acceptance from the gaming community.
Why is it that a game that is so problematic received such high praise? It's this thought alone that leads me to believe that Fallout 4 is too big to fail.
Fallout 4 on Switch 2 offers 30fps, 40fps, and 60fps modes, with graphics settings differing from PS4 and PS5 versions.

Following Fallout 4's anniversary update, Nexus Mods have assebled an Anniversary Collection of existing mods designed to offer a free refresh as an alternative

A decade on from its Game of the Year-winning triumph, Todd Howard reminisces on how Fallout 4 changed Bethesda Game Studios, its TV show adaptation and playtesting The Elder Scrolls 6.
They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.
Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.
So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.
I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
The game is great fun, and easily really immersive, even with all it's foibles.
It's not too big to fail
Gaming journalism is dead. 9/10 is expected from big games or else they are considered not good enough. A 8/10 all of the sudden became a bad thing that's why publishers try to their best to get Atleast 9 out of 10
There was a article I read few months ago that showed how a game Sale increases when it gets a 9 or above and how the sale suffer if it gets under a 9
That's why we see so many 10/10
Think about it in a 10 to 15 years window only a handful of games ever got 10/10 but in last 5 years 10/10 is handed out almost yearly on mutiple games
Battlefield 4 launched broken and unfinished yet got positive eview
Ac:until launched unfinished and broken yet received positive reviews
Mgs 5 launched with an unfinished story yet got perfect scores and is a contender for GOTY
And the latest being fallout 4. Why is it that Bethesda can release games with major bugs and glitches yet receives nothing but positive reviews
I saw some people Blame ms and Sony for not helping Bethesda, I mean seriously so now it's ms and sony's job to help with development of a 3rd party game and not Bethesda who have a history of releasing unfinished Games
But don't worry let's give GOTY to fallout 4,that will teach Bethesda a real lesson
Didn't ms pay youtubers for positive press for Xbox one? So it's a proven fact that publishers buy positive press
That's why I only trust handful of reviewers
Angryjoe cause he has the guts to call of developers and be honest in this reviews
Check out this game angrycentericgaming, he doesn't have million off subs but he is one of the better reviewers out there
And if you like long hour plus reviews than chicagocharlie
No game is too big to fail but with they way reviewers are doing things lately it looks like it is the case. I don't play fallout so I don't really care but I can't fathom how a game can hit 0 fps and be given 10/10. Just seems like if it's a big name it can do no wrong. Same thing with halo. Got round to playing finally, I'm not finished but so far the story is boring as hell with boring levels. The story is half the game so how does it get 9s and 10s?? Ac unity was a huge offender as well. Anyone who gave drive club and halo mcc high scores when they released were off their rockers because both of those had huge server connection problems. I don't understand how people still trust reviewers. They're either paid off, fanboys or don't have a clue what their writing about. Review scores are the most untrustworthy source in the industry. We'd be better off without them. Those big scores are being thrown around way too much these days when a game doesn't deserve them making them meaningles. They way games are reviewed needs to change because it's with out a doubt broken right now.
40 hours and still no damn glitches on PS4.
