PC always gets the tons of crashes, but it's worth for the sweeter graphics anyway

nicolesanders3721d ago

Not really, consoles come close and sometimes better.

Its a BUGthesda game..Shouldn't be shocking in 2015 that they release either a straight up broken game or games with major issues, their QA for consoles and PC is clearly did it start up....Fallout 4 like every other bugthesda game will get patched in a month or so

For many it's just not worth it.

We see these articles for most big releases, not just Bethesda games, and many people just don't want to put up with the hassles of PC gaming.

About 13 hours in so far, and no game breaking bugs yet. Only tweak I made to the INI was setting shadows to 4096. Performance could be better but I'm sure a driver update, crossfire profile, and INI tweaks to disable game works are on the wing. Running a 4790k at 5ghz, 16GB DDR3, multiple HDD/SSD, and an R9 295x2 and I still get performance drops.

Afterburner says that the CPU is utilized pretty evenly, but only one GPU is getting pegged and only at 50% of that one GPU's core. I guess I'll move the game to the SSD and see what improvement it offers.

A couple of these are good to know even if you aren't having issues. Particularly the ones related to Vsync and mouse smoothing. And from experience Setting pre rendered frames to 1 can make a world of difference.

I should be able to play the game without all of these issues. Why is it that gamers just accept this ? we are basically being sold a broken game, surely we are entitled to a refund.

nicolesanders3720d ago

It's a digital world, so at least these developers and publishers get to roll out fixes asap instead of just sitting back and watch sales go by as in the 90's. It's a better time actually. Crashes and errors will decline in a few weeks.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder67d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
