Fallout 4 PS4 vs. Xbox One Graphics Comparison

Luckily enough, players will have an option of where they want to enjoy Fallout 4. You have the PC, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One as your platform choices. For some, this can prove to be difficult.

wow the framerate on the xbone version is pretty bad.

cartoonx13836d ago

seems to be pretty bad on both consoles with xbone going as low as 0? lol?. bethesda did it again lol. well this game is always good on pc with mods tho.

Yeah, after seeing Digital Foundry's analysis, I am glad I canceled my PS4 pre-order for PC. When it comes to a game like this, I'm more interested in being sucked in than having my friends list readily available.

This is why you just wait a year and get the game of the year edition

phantomxll3835d ago

Or the capture method of the video is messed up. Or the controller sucks. Or a few other scenarios, but nah let's just stick with the most controversial one.

"More troubling still, I've suffered an appalling frame rate that plummets to what appear to be single figures during moments of intense action, and lengthy pauses while the game hangs and decides if it wants to continue or not" ..... Eurogamer
Oh well I will have TR to keep me busy till they patch it up, anything like the Witcher it'll be about 10 patches before fixed..

OC_MurphysLaw3835d ago

^^This is exactly what I am doing. Rise of the Tomb Raider will be played first and allow Bethesda to get out its 5 to 10 patches fixing this or that... and come late December or January I will pick up then.

"Xbox One consistently produces a near-unshakable 30fps. It's possible this is a side-effect of Bethesda's choice to begin engine optimisations on Xbox One - but even so, PS4's lengthy stretches at the low 20fps range are out of place, given its advantages in every other area"

Apparently according to digital foundry it's not the best on PS4 either

callahan093835d ago

PS4 has its own issues, but the quote you used could have some context. They're talking about one battle, against a Deathclaw using a minigun, which is not the norm for the game. For some reason (they venture a guess that it has something to do with optimizations being focused more on Xbox One than PS4), the PS4 version suffers more in that battle. But other battles are identical or superior performance on PS4. The conclusion of the article states that it is an "overall smoother experience from PS4". That all said, given how GREAT it performed on their budget PC, I'm glad I pre-ordered this on PC. It runs great on PC! PS4 and XB1 are surprisingly poor performing in comparison to their budget PC build.

Deathdeliverer3835d ago

You took that wayyyyy out of context. You took a excerpt from the whole article that says that fighting a death stalker with a mini gun in on PS4 slowed to mid 20s for the duration of the fight which felt out of place when the PS 4 version is so far ahead everywhere else which is probably because the Xbox was the lead platform. During the same fight the Xbox was at 30 consistently. That one fight. Xbox problems are during the whole game constantly kicking you in the nuts. Nice editing though. I'll be skipping this on my Xbox one and grabbing Tomb Raider instead.

It looks good on both consoles.

Braid3836d ago

Needless to say, there are spoilers regarding the opening sequence of the game.

ironmonkey3835d ago

So glad i wont waste money on multi on xboxone thats just gross performance. Ill stick to exclusives on it.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot181d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder181d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain181d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
