Games like The Unfinished Swan & Beyond Eyes as of recent — though certainly not major hitters — are trying to build foundation and alongside such console releases, the PC-exclusive Pulse follows in as much the same vein.

Pulse gets its core principles right, but as a fully realized game, the title is somewhat lacking. The concept is cool, but its short campaign and limited mechanical growth makes Pulse feel more like an idea than a fully realized game.

Nerd Rock's Trevor Coelho writes: "Pulse is more of an experience than a game. It's a little slice of a much larger story, about a young girl who is as much a hero as any character in any other game I've played - if not more.
All at once, Pulse manages to be tense and emotional while successfully conveying the terror that comes with being unable to see. If you can get past the short playtime relative to the price tag, I highly recommend adding it to your Steam library."
