
Ten years have passed since Marvel vs. Capcom 2 appeared in the arcades and on Dreamcast. Since then, Capcom has remained quiet about producing a successor to its stylish and successful Versus series. What could be the reason for their silence? Perhaps the biggest reason was Marvel ending the partnership, taking away Capcom's use of the Marvel license and effectively killing any plans for a sequel. Without the core Marvel characters, the future of the Versus franchise seemed unclear, ambiguous, and doubtful. But now, under a new license with celebrated anime studio Tatsunoko, Capcom aims to reinvigorate the Versus franchise with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom by redesigning the game mechanics to be accessible for new players, while maintaining a deep, intricate foundation for seasoned veterans.

I think this is how Japanese devs need to think. Catering to the west is a terrible idea. I personally, seek out Japanese developed games because they bring a unique experience to gaming. They just stand out more that way.
The sonic music is iconic the mega drive games were some of the best on the system but i wouldn't say they were free of western influence especially since 3 was composed in part by Michael Jackson
