Need For Speed CheatCC Review

In an attempt to right some of the wrongs put forth by several of the less-than-stellar Need for Speed tiles in recent years, EA and Ghost Games have decided to hit the reset button on the franchise. But did we really end up with a whole new experience or simply a refined version of their uber-successful formula of the past?

Man, the reviews for this game are all over the place. It seems you either like it or you don't.

They spent so much time making it look pretty that it has a bunch of drawbacks in gameplay. The always online thing is not needed either.

This is a stepping stone in the right direction, but it isn't a stellar performance.

Sure, there's some issues like the A.I and the handling on some of the cars I tried, it's not perfect, but the awesome customization that lets you change every part of the car to your liking that I even spent 2 hours straight in the garage just customizing one car its just outstanding and similar to Underground customization but this one has more than that. Also the great progression system and great graphics makes it stand out from the rest of the recent NFSs.

Its a step in the right direction, and they should continue on it and learn from their mistakes on this one and add more to the game, and they really need to remove the always online its kinda unnecessary to be honest, but what I like was that other players can start races with you (impromptu races - similar to the way it is in GTA V online) and also the normal races scattered across the map.

I'm liking it so far, sure you start slowly, but when you level up it all gets exciting as more tuning and upgrades unlock and it can be a game changer.

All it needs is a little fine tuning like stability and extra parts for some cars and more cars (51 cars atm) and it could very well be a great arcade racer we've been waiting for for ages.

my rating for the game (in its current state): 7/10

remember driveclub when it launched? mixed reviews and all, but look at it now, an unprecedented racing game on the PS4 with bikes!

I hope GhostGames would improve their game, since they said they'll be releasing DLCs for free, I can't wait to see what will they add.

Bought Codemasters .... absolutely mismanaging them the traditional EA way ...

Oh ea... Your ability to destroy everything you touch will never cease to amaze me. I guess Madden is still going but only because the people that play it are not very intelligent. That, or they're masochists that love getting screwed.

underground 1 and 2 are still the best ones.

And they're spent every game after that trying to chase that high and never meeting it

Makes you think if gamers are looking to relive nostalgia or each dev that has attempted to mimic the glory days are just incompetent?

Truth. Loved Midnight Club.

I wouldn't be mad at another proper Underground or Most Wanted (PS2/X360) entry though.
