Star Citizen Alpha 2.0: Flight Model Changes

Star Citizen is not a game with out controversy, even recently there have been calls of mismanagement, money going to the wrong place, and internal strife. Robertson Space Industries looks to put those to an end with the delivery of Patch 2.0, which includes many of the promised features from the kick-starter, including three new flight modes.

I cannot wait for the release of this one /s

This game will never release. The devs will be found guilty of misappropriation of finds, and the rest will be history.

just over 3 years in to development, give it sometime im pretty sure it will release :).
now a game like final fantasy xv has a ridiculous amount of time in development yet no one seems to worry?

Enate3866d ago

Plenty of people have worried, but none of them are funding it. Not a day has gone by for a lot of fans since the 2006 reveal of what was known as FF Versus XIII. That we hadn't sat there an contemplated what in the hell they were doing. Especially when they released several other games in the FF series.

Like I said in my later post though most people just are not used to knowing about games in their inception. An don't realize most games are several years along by the time they see them. I don't per say fault the typical person for that though. Since most people I come across don't know the first thing about game development.

I find it kind of funny that most devs take 5 to 7 years to make games that work on release and people don't bitch about it. But here comes someone with a great idea, asks for funds, gets them, and they expext that the game be fully finished in 2 and a half years...

nowitzki20043866d ago

Those are gamers that do not understand game development. The more you know about game development the more respect you get for developers. If Star Citizen came out in 3 years it would still be good considering how huge the game will be.

Its much bigger than GTAV, Skyrim, Witcher 3 etc and all those games took about 5 or more years to complete.

Enate3866d ago (Edited 3866d ago )

I wouldn't say most devs but larger games definitely take some serious time to complete. I just think the issue is that most gamers are not used to hearing about a game during its inception. An the other thing with this game in particular. I think most people understand it won't be fully complete any time soon. I think most people are just looking for those promised mile stones to sink their teeth into.

They should probably call it patch .70 or something. Patch 1.0 is release, and it's not a fully working product or finished yet. It has some parts that are working but that's about it. In fact I'd consider SC very much alpha right now. So them referring to it as patch 2.0 is a little shady and misleading, although you could say that about the whole SC project.

Anonagrog3866d ago

It's called 'Alpha 2.0', not "Patch 2.0".

That "Alpha" part does actually mean something.

Grave3866d ago

I've bought a few ships, but that was years ago. At this point I have written this game off. I hope I am wrong and CIG surprises me. Too bad I'll probably have to wait a few more years to see if that happens or not.

Seafort3866d ago

Years ago? It's only been in development for 3 years.

The thing with game development is that people don't see the process from Day 1 like in Star Citizens case.

Most AAA games are announced at E3 with 6 months till launch. No one mentions that they've been in development for the last 5-6 years like Fallout 4.

What most gamers lack these days is patience and a bit of understanding.

If people aren't happy with the progress get a refund and STFU :)

Sure....since they raised close to a billion they don't even need to make a profit.

blacktiger53d ago

Well You know GTA 6 is like 2 billion dollar. So I don tknow why you trippin

jznrpg53d ago

But it’s not funded by players for over 13 years. And it will release before Star Citizen

blacktiger53d ago

what difference does it make, it's being funded while you are pissed off, money is money. Why do you have emotion?

Pergele53d ago

Did you know you are so stupid? Like it's almost funny

Azurite53d ago

The money is allocated between two games, most of it goes to Squadron 42.

peppeaccardo53d ago

Feels like when at the mall people stop you to give you free products and once you accept they won't stop to follow you until you buy the rest ..... F-DAT !

Noskypeno53d ago

What, you don't want shoe cleaner that costs more than the shoe?

raWfodog53d ago

I do wish they'd release this for PS5 Pro at the very least. I've been craving a good realistic space exploration game since Frontier Developments stopped supporting ongoing updates for Elite Dangerous on consoles. I put a ton of hours into that game and then they just stopped console support when the Odyssey update came out. Pissed me off LOL. I guess I'll get back into No Man's Sky for the time being since there's a bunch of new stuff since I've last played.

andy8553d ago

I didn't even realise you had to pay. Who on earth is paying to play a game that is still in alpha over a decade on 😂

thorstein52d ago (Edited 52d ago )

"A decade?"

This started before No Man's Sky was announced.

2011. It's been a decade and a half.

Shameless plug for NMS: you can build all of Star Citizens' ships in NMS for free. The only difference is that one of these games has launched...a decade ago. And the new update allows you toto capture creatures and battle them in an arena.

It's still a giant money sucker fools and their money are soon parted.
