John Wick: The VR Experience Built with Unreal Engine 4

Earlier this week VRFocus got hands-on with the first preview build of WEVR’s John Wick: The VR Experience, a brand new videogame title based on Lionsgate’s popular motion-picture franchise. Many readers have been enquiring about which engine is being used to develop the title and today VRFocus received confirmation that it is in fact Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4.

"The VR Experience" is a very odd choice. Feels like this would be something at a Six Flags Amusement Park instead of a fleshed out game.

The John Wick game is a dream come true, but bad news for my Nintendo Switch 2

Saber Interactive's new John Wick game is bringing one of my biggest dreams to life, but there's hope Keanu Reeves doesn't skip over the Nintendo Switch 2.

The problem is this game really seems like it would have to be 60fps for the John Wick “feel”. Unfortunately as much as I love my Switch 2, it’s pretty clear it’s not really going to be a 60fps system. Which is a shame.

I think 30 is fine for games if the animation system and fluidity is smooth.

For example I just played ghost of yotei at 30fps and it was fantastic I didn't even clock it was 30 I tried it at 60 but went back to 30 because I wanted the highest level of fidelity on the base ps5

Then I played ffxv and ohh boy at 30 that was a janky train wreck and just horrible to play

I had to play GOY in high Fidelity as well. I just bought a new 15 hundred 65 Samsung TV & I want to play & view my AAA games in the sharpest vivid colorful way possible, one of the biggest reasons I paid that much for a TV, a PS5 Pro & a $70 game.

late to the john wick discussion .... but I just hope this releases After the Max Payne Remake.
(dont want the new guy stealing the all the attention from our new york noir john woo guy)
{come to think of it .... can we also get a Stranglehold Remake as well?}

No bad news is that it's on the Xbox, that console has single handedly held back this generation with that 1080p console they have.

Show us where it holds back other platforms?

So title stating a fact and article making stuff up for clicks. (concern trolling)
Sound on par with everything Nintendo related by tech/Gaming media since Apr. 2025

These both could be pretty cool games. 🤞🏽They come out good/ at all.

Steve_Gamer139d ago

Yeah the John Wick one has been a long time coming, and the SAW game if they go All-In could be one of the best horrors.

Deeeeznuuuts139d ago

Hopefully they actually invest in some really good experiences, both Franchise's could really use a great game.
I did enjoy the first Saw game on PS3, not so much the second one though and I never played John Wick Hex so can't comment on that

jznrpg139d ago

There is obvious potential with the franchises so hopefully they get the investment that’s necessary for a good outcome

We really should have had a adrenaline fueled AAA action shooter with John Wick years ago, especially over Hex.

One of my friends is the designer of this game! He actually did such a great job. Make sure to support it!

Also I'm hearing through the grapevine that there may be a PlayStation port coming 😜
