Two things Uncharted 4’s multiplayer is doing wrong

MWEB GameZone writes: "Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is undoubtedly one of the biggest titles coming to the PS4 in 2016. From everything we’ve seen so far the game looks spectacular.

However, there are two things developer Naughty Dog is doing wrong when it comes to Uncharted 4’s multiplayer experience."

I didn't see any of the mystical thing in the PGW videos. It is is probably a separate mode where El Dorado will grant powers to players and go nuts. ... it sounds fun.

Only thing that bugs me is the microtransactions... As for no Dedicated serves, I'll wait for the beta and see because I have had little issues with TLOU MP. Still, No DS sounds lazy and terrible.

The multiplayer looks fun, chaotic, and great.

It's not a separate mode. It's built right into the core game, sort of like kickbacks.

You basically have to "buy" it with in-game currency (like in Last of Us when you buy armour and weapons).

You have a small store where you can buy accomplices, power weapons, and the mysticals. You have to equip these things when you make a loadout, so you can actually mix and match what you want.

They sound like killstreaks, since you earn them by unlocking them in the game, but they all sound very team oriented, making them potentially interesting for the whole team:

-One acts as a ward that shoots missiles if you come close
-Another acts as a healing radius
-The other lets you teleport around

The first two sound pretty strategic and team oriented. I'm not really feeling the third one though, so hopefully they balance things in beta if it needs to be reworked

All gameplay items can be acquired with in-game currency. None of them will be gated behind Microtransactions.

If it's like tlou it will take an eternity to earn anything for us average players.

@cfc83

I guess 'git gud' then 😉

BlackTar1873875d ago

i never had any problems getting enough money to buy the ingame stuff like armor etc.

The Real money stuff was stupid but the ingame stuff was not hard to get.

Lonnie183875d ago

It looked like it was doing everything right to me...

mezati993875d ago

no Dedicated serves is the only issue here, MP itself looks tons of fun and i can see myself playing that for a long time

Dee_Blessed3875d ago

I heard neither U2 nor U3 had dedicated servers. Yet people were ticked that it wasn't in the UC. Meaaaaning it was enjoyable. Meaaaaning u4 multiplayer will be enjoyable. Period. These articles I swear smh

Elit3Nick3875d ago

Those games released back when dedicated servers weren't a common thing, not even the xbox 360 Halos had dedicated servers. Now that EA and MS is pushing it on every game they make it's become more of a standard for online games.

BlackTar1873875d ago

So Elitenick does that make the game any less fun? As far as i remember UC2 and UC3 MP wasn't really an issue with dropping games etc so i fail to see how DS actually improve the fun of the core gameplay.

People just complain to complain.

Don't get me wrong DS are nice and welcome but pretending it's some huge deal is little people grasping at straws.

Elit3Nick3875d ago

@BlackTar187 I'm not at all implying that, just answering why people are more upset about lack of dedicated servers now compared to in the past.

Soap_Z3875d ago

Oh, no... Can you talk about something new about gameplay?
GTA V online has microtransactions, Halo 5 multi has miscrotransactions, but we still love these games because they have great stuff and a lot of fun.
I won't miss any good games regardless of whether they have some insignificant microtransactions.
I also won't buy any piece of shit even though they are cheap and free of microtransaction.

Dee_Blessed3875d ago

Exactly. People are just nitpicking

PhucSeeker3875d ago (Edited 3875d ago )

Stuffs in Halo 5 and GTAV are 100% accessible via in-game currency. But The Last of Us have some perks/weapons that are only available behind paywall. Because of that, most fans thought that U4 MP might have something like that.

But they did say that all items in the game won't be locked behind paywall. Let's hope they'll keep their words.
