Batman: Arkham Knight has returned to the PC, but the port is still fraught with problems and lacking some of the features that people were told to expect.

I think it might be time to wrap it up and give up on this game.

Black0ut3866d ago

I was really considering trying it once it relaunched but it seems most have lost faith in the game.

Really disappointing to say the least =(

Unspoken3866d ago (Edited 3866d ago )

Why not just play it and enjoy the game? You can pick up keys for cheap. If FPS becomes that much of an issue, turn off fog/smoke.

Black0ut3866d ago

@Unspoken

Don't get me wrong, I REALLY want to try it but I'm not paying more that $20 for it with all the issues around the game...Looks brilliant but not $50 USD brilliant (steam) or even $32 (G2A).

Just me but I don't think it's worth it dude.

RumbleFish3866d ago

I will buy it for 5€. Like I did with all Batman games.

just_looken3866d ago

ha ha no kidding but dont worry another game form this studio will be available next year.

kevnb3866d ago

Just have to point out that the 12 gb recommendation is complete bs. http://www.techspot.com/art...
There might be something gained with faster ram though, some recent games actually need more bandwidth for the cpu.

Kalebninja3866d ago

I have two 980 SC's and I can't run the game at 4k with max settings because it requires more than 4GB vram. First game I've had this problem with. I either have to lower it to 1080p or lower the texures to normal.

DarkOcelet3866d ago (Edited 3866d ago )

I am not sure you have to play this kind of game at 4K/60fps. 30fps is fine for this game.

A 980 ti at Max settings can run this game over 40fps. Its funny though, the game runs better at 4k than at 1080p and that is a fact.

Rocksteady really effed up with the PC version. Never outsource your game.

bomajed3866d ago (Edited 3866d ago )

30fps is fine when you have a console, but when you invest a lot of money to buy a powerful PC you should easily be able to run games at 60 fps!
If they want to sell a game on a system they better make sure it runs well on it, or they shouldn't ask for money in exchange for their product.
I have a PS4 and could have got this game on PS4, but I also have a PC, and I want to run this game at its full potential, instead we got a cheap product with a cheaper re-release!!

Kalebninja3866d ago

Thing is the fps doesnt impact the gpu memory usage so sacrificing it doesn't allow me to raise any other settings. The only two things that really impact it are the texture level and resolution. me playing on a large tv I'm forced to lower the Textures. It's really unfortunate that through SLI you can only use the memory of one the cards.

DarkOcelet3866d ago

@bomajed

If i have a choice between playing Withcer 3 2k/60fps with Ultra and Nvidia Crapworks On or 4K/30 with Ultra and Nvidia Crapworks on, i would definitely go with 4k.

But if a game like Battlefield or COD, and i have to choose between 2K/60fps and 4K/30fps, i would go with 2k.

It really depends on the kind of game i am playing. Yes, 60fps is always better, but if i have to sacrifice it for much better visuals in certain games, then i would definitely do it.

Or i could simply get another 980ti when it gets a major discount :D

frostypants3866d ago

@bomajed, there is more involved than FPS. It's not reasonable to expect everything to run at 4K and 60fps. I don't care how much you spent.

Shouldn't you have a total of 8gb of VRAM?

Kalebninja3866d ago

Vram doesn't stack. Two 4gb graphics cards equals 4gbs instead of 8.

SniperControl3866d ago

Ok confused, i know that vram does not stack, but most new games i play, GTA5, Shad of Mordor, Batman AK all show stacked vram in the graphic options menus. My GTX 970s in SLI show up as 8gb vram.

Unspoken3866d ago

Because SLI is not enabled for the game. Once you enable it you will see it drop to 4GB again.

DX12, Mantle, Vulcan will eventually stack vram, via alternate frame rendering, and even may allow you to use different multi gpu configurations in your setup.

JsonHenry3866d ago

Ah, I forget that is a DX12 feature. Too bad. :(

neoandrew3866d ago (Edited 3866d ago )

Unspoken

AFR is used now in dx11, from now on dx12, vulkan you can use SFR and full vram of both cards or more

Unspoken3866d ago

I apologize, SFR is what I meant to write. It was very late or very early. Take your pick.

With AFR all assets have to be available to each GPU as it fully renders each other screen. SPR only needs the assets for only a portion of the screen. We may even be a able to throw the power of iGPU into the mix. More significant for APUs rendering power.

kevnb3866d ago

They have a setting that uses more vram then you have, don't enable it ...

Relientk773866d ago

I feel like the PC port of this game is hopeless

jonivtec3866d ago

It is not.....90% of people play the game whitout problem since post patch including me.Great game with awesome next gen graphic as long you have a decent pc to push it.

And this is why I play on consoles.

Double_O_Revan3866d ago

I do too. But dont make it seem like consoles are any more reliable most of the time.

bomajed3866d ago (Edited 3866d ago )

It's not the system's fault, it's the devs fault!
Witcher 3, Mad Max and MGSV ran flawlessly on PC With 4k/60fps, I don't think you can get that on a console!

Two-Face3866d ago

Not only those games. But Dying Light, Alien Isolation, Shadow of Mordor, GTA V and many more runs much better on PC.

I can accept a stinking turd once in a while if it means that I can play the superior version of most of the other multiplats.

Psychotica3866d ago

Did you read sbout the PS4 version getting a patch for corrupt saves?

marioJP873866d ago

Why? 30 fps with other games maxed at 900P or struggling to hit 1080P? Just wondering...

CrowbaitBob3866d ago

Really? Your reason for gaming on consoles is "crappy batman port?" Seems legit.

We hand-picked the 20 best Steam Deck games under $10 in the Steam Autumn Sale, up to 95% off

I would also add Risk of Rain 2 as long as you don't stray too far from a power source as each run can be long as the hours melt away. Another thing to note is that based on the reports, the FPS may drop into the 40s if a lot of enemies are on the screen.

There is also the Half Life series. If you haven't played half-life before then you can do so now at the super low price.

cthulhucultist544d ago

Mafia was amazing looking and had a great story. Played flawlessly at 30fps as well without dips 99% of the time.

The same is true for Jedi Fallen Order

Sony games as also on sale. Picked up Rachet and Clank, cant wait to try it!
