i played stanley parable if you want to call it actually playing. i have no idea why that so called game got so much attention and high scores. it was well made and had good voice acting but just nothing there.

hopefully this new one actually does something.

'Cause it is unique, inventive and had something to say that resonated with folks. Games doesn't have to be the pinnacle of traditional gameplay to be worthy of praise.

"what exactly did it have to say?"

Read the darn reviews if you didn't have anything to take from the experience, cause I'm not going to give you the benefit. You are the one mentioning high scores, which typically only comes from someone who didn't bother reading the content of the review to see why they were scored highly. Attention - because it was different. High scores - because people felt it deserved it and justified why. http://www.metacritic.com/g...

Did you feel the same way about the "so called game", Everybody's Gone to the Rapture that received similar praise and fanfare on its release? Read impressions, you'll see why.

15 games on FIFTEEN pages? That's a NO from me.

Superliminal
Antichamber
Manifold Garden
Portal & Portal 2
The Stanley Parable
Monument Valley
Gorogoa
Thumper
Inscryption
Q.U.B.E. 2
Darq
Quantum Break
Perspective
Inside
The Swapper

IamTylerDurden11052d ago (Edited 1052d ago )

I think Inscryption is the best game on that list. PT and Returnal i would offer. Returnal deserves a spot over some of the listed games. Especially after chapter 3. Maybe even Alice MR? Death Stranding? Kojima all together. To much smaller degree Dead Space. I'm spitballing.

I didn't play Thumper enough to see beyond the visual spectacle. Curious choice.

I'd add FEAR and RE7 (when Ethan starts getting visions, especially in the boat) to that list.

Edit: and Here They Lie

What no Eternal Darkness on the list?
