PS4 version looks better to me. Especially the more detailed textures that it has.

However the X1 version still looks very good.

The ps4 looks better but its not like the xbone is bad looking or has that great a visual downgrade. But i think a full fledged game looking this good would have been abetter, a story, character like in KOTOR would have been wonderful especially with this visual quality.

Comparisons are a waste of time on Youtube.

It looks better on the PS4, but I think that's more of a problem with Frostbite/DICE than the One's hardware. Even though there's usually some graphical disparity between consoles, it's never this much of a difference, and most other devs can get their games pretty close. No matter what the cause, both versions look good and as unimportant as graphics are to me in general, they're even less important in MP shooters where gameplay and the fun factor are all that matter.

Both versions look great, but especially on the zoomed in pictures you can really see the details and rock textures and such are crisper on PS4.

Both graphics are A1 but by default I know I see a slight sharper image when comparing 720 to 900p. I struggle to see a sharper image when comparing 900p to 1080p though.

It's going to be a fact that given equal development time and lack of any tricks slowing down the ps4 version or shoddy programming in general that the Xbox versions will have to make some compromise in comparison to ps4. It might be textures it might be lighting it might be resolution or frame rate but as long as the developers take the time to do it carefully it will still be good even if it isn't the best version, there isn't much use in pointing it out anymore.

Noticeable difference. Microsoft really shit the bed w the X1. Now that ps4 is 350 w a game its game over. At 350 there isn't a better buy in gaming.

It looks better on PS4 for sure. I played the beta and looks good on Xbox One too. What sucks more is that Xbox One can do better resolution than 720p. I put the blame on DICE for still using that old ass engine from launch. I bet 900p was achievable ahd they put in the work.

Anyway hope you guys enjoy the game. I'll be skipping this one and waiting for a Star Wars game with a true single player campaign. Here hoping for Kotor.

Its a shame that the hardware on both sides means that resolution has to take such a hit to achieve a better framerate. Its not like there is much going on in the environments in terms of destructibility. The capture the pod map is also quite small!

They do both look good and close to the same buy yes, one is a little cleaner but if you don't have both consoles do comparisons really matter? When I get SWBF or any other game when I'm playing that game the last thing I'm thinking is, is how this game looks or plays on another console.
These things just fan the war in which there are no winners.

Downloaded the beta on both consoles playing on the same tv, although the X1 version looked good, PS4 version was superior. I am just surprised what is it that other devs know that EA or Dice doesn't cause after 2 years they should be getting better performance out of both consoles in terms of optimization, and they clearly are not. I have both systems and did the test for myself, and Playstation looks a little bit better. That being said, they both played identical.

Its no minor detail. That's like going from a slightly hazy blurry version to crisp sharp image. When they swipe screens it's like watching a fog lift. Or screen door. PS4 differen ce actually seems to be widening in this game. Does not appear like Xbox One is closing the gap at all. That's kind of important because all the fuss Xbox has made over closing the gap. Which we see here is only growing wider.

So? where are the kids saying it looks 100% the same. Has the same shadows and everything? where are you now?

First,.. it cannot look identical,.. Hell even PS4 version is a bit blurry because it is in 900p,.. and you notice it really fast (especially when you are used to play other games at crispy 1080p on PS4 ,..so yeah) AA implementation and image quality is quite good,.. but native resolution makes a huge difference everytime,..
You can have as high as you want AA and aniso passes,.. Native still looks better ,..

Will be interesting if next gen can do 4K gaming(in some capacity),.. So some games could be downscaled,.. so no AA needed at all

PC for me is a must. If you have a console. PS4 is a no brainer.

Graphically the same just a better resolution and more stable frames on the Playstation.

Remember when comparison videos were just running the game at normal speed on one console and then on the other and you could CLEARLY see the difference...now this gen we need to freezeframe and zoom in to notice a minor difference...yet now we act like it's bigger than ever...when really it's smaller than ever (I get the technical aspect of number of pixels etc...I'm talking about REAL noticeable difference). This gen people keep focusing on stats on a page, instead of the real world end result. I've looked at both myself on a 65" Samsung LED....anyone pretending there is a massive difference it lying to themselves. I just hope they fix whatever bug is messing with the FPS on the X1 version that causes that random FPS drop.

The game looks great in all cases, just play it if you want to. I won't jump in right away....I may get it early next year, but despite having the option to get it on PS4 and play the version with higher native res...videos like this and the comparison I did myself just confirm that to me, the superior version is on X1 where I can also use a better UI, Controller, and network (esp since I cancelled PS+ since there is no reason to have both). Just my opinion, but I think people REALLY need to let go of this notion that higher native res makes it the "superior" version....seems like this gen keeps proving over and over that nothing could be further from he truth. Just my two cents.

I played the beta on both. I'm not being a fan boy to Sony or Microsoft but I played both and the ps4 looks better on my 46 inch tv. Sony bravia. The ps4 is sharper and the colors are a bit better. Even some things look more shiny/polished. I prefer ps version but it's not too much of a big deal

What I think you need to remember is this is the same demo from 4+ months ago, its just being used to stress test the servers. These were the same levels shown in late May early June and at E3, I'm sure DICE wasnt working on improving the demos visuals. I'm sure the real game is being worked for optimization. We all knew the PS4 version of this demo was visually superior to X1, will the final versions be on par??? maybe , maybe not but I'm sure they will be very close and still fun if you're a Star Wars nerd.

No doubt the beta looks slightly better on the PS4, but unless you zoom in and really focus on the detail comparison, the difference is hardly noticeable. That 900p vs 720p does make a difference.

am i the only one who notices how much Digital Foundry sticks up for the xbox? in every single comparison they try to spin it in Xbox favor. guarantee if this was the other way arround they're wording of things would be completely different. also take not of how long they waited to put out the xbox comparison. the ps4 and pc ones were out before the beta even dropped. the xbox one came out i believe the second day of the PUBLIC beta.

it's not a huge, mind-blowing, land-slide victory difference, but ps4 has the edge for sure. higher resolution and everything just looks overall more clean on ps4. and besides, it's not like xb1 looks bad or anything~ good job on both versions~

I thought I would see an actual difference. I don't see much at all. I have a feeling PS4 owners will be seeing more than what is actually there, but I assume if the resolutions were reversed some X1 owners would be seeing beyond reality as well. That's just fanboys for you. As it stands it would be nice if EA actually allowed for real optimization on the consoles but they seem to sit on their hands if it means putting more time and money into it.

So close I'd never notice a difference if you didn't point them out to me.

PS4 is better for sure, but I played most on Xbox One. The visuals don't matter once you're in the heat of battle.

The Xbox One version was the first version I saw in person, and I was still blown away by the realism.

Wow I will say this. I own both consoles and have played battlefront on both. and there is barely if no difference between the two consoles. This game looks amazing on both systems. You would have to actually run a fps Check on your system to see any difference. I had 121 kills and 1 death in a single hoth match. It was the day the beta came out and I just sat in a boring ass turret. But now everyone knows to take out the turrets right off the rip. Even though the turrets reappear 3 minutes later. This morning I had 86 kills because I just kept Walker Spawning the whole match.

its amazing to me that people are still getting hyped up over graphical differences between the ps4 and xbone lol. As an owner of both while playing i really dont notice. If you boot them up separately and play them its pretty much the same. You will not go HOLY &#^( dude this is unreal how amazing PS4 looks compared to Xbone this is insane. You WILL on the other hand say that if you play the PC version on max. But comparing 2 consoles that you can get for $350 with games included....come on people grow up
