doesent matter if this game is 900p or 720p... im just not impressed with it.

Having played the beta, i can say that this will be on my holiday shopping list.

Game still looks good but REALLY EA??? 720P after 2 years??? The XB1 is capable of so much more and YES it really is. This should have been no less than 900p on the XB1 and the PS4 possibly hitting 1080p by now. For all the haters using this as an attempt to try and mock the XB1 just go and look at what MS has been able to do with Forza 6, Halo 5 and Tomb Raider. The box is plenty capable and as a gamer who owns both I personally feel the consoles are alot closer than most people think. Close enough that both should have had a minimum of 900p on this game. I realize its pushing 60 fps but I really think EA Dice is just giving us the whole 'throw it together, stamp it and sell it to the masses' treatment instead of actually optimizing their engine. Just my two cents worth.

Ah well...it will be free on access by april. And in the meantime I have the superior shooter in halo 5.

Wow, this HAS to be poor optimization by the Devs then..seriously no other explanation, esp if you look at the fact that MUCH MUCH MUCH more demanding games are looking and running better...just craziness. I seriously can't understand how Halo 5 is more demanding than this game on EVERY SINGLE LEVEL...and it runs and looks better. Not only that, but more often than not X1 has the FPS advantage.

Hopefully they can get their act together for final release....then again, with the crap ton of games coming this holiday season, I probably won't even touch this game (other than Beta) till mid next year anyway.

I really just wish that parity didn't block the X1 version from using Azure servers....parity this gen just needs to die already...it's handicapping gaming. The graphical differences between the PS4 and X1 version aren't enough to brag/worry about...I AM shocked that EA couldn't get the FPS together yet on this one for X1, hopefully they fix that before launch...that being said, it's an online only game..it SHOULD be played on the best dedicated servers available instead of the EA ones....but since it's multi-plat and PS4 has the marketing rights...that "wouldn't be fair".

Had a chance to play PC,PS4 and Xbox One versions today.

First I played was PS4. Played the waved based map with a friend. Then tried some walker assault. Never noticed any FPS dips. Game looked amazing.

Played the PC version. At first 4K at medium setting. Holy crap it looked good. Looked so much better than the PS4 version. However I could only handle 35 FPS on average.

Tried it on 1080p on Ultra settings. Again looked amazing on both the wave mode and walker assault. However even though it looked better than the PS4 version at 1080p. Not a massive difference I was hoping for.

Then I tried the XB1 version. I never had time to play walker assault but I did put about 30 minutes on the wave mode by my self. As soon as I loaded in I noticed the graphical difference between PS4 and PC. The PC version at both 4K and 1080p looked like a different game to me.

Even the PS4 version was graphically better to the point where I was actually shocked. Now I know Battlefield 4 and Hardline was 900p on PS4 and 720p on XB1. I could tell the difference but not much. On Star Wars the PS4 version to me just looked so much better than the XB1. From the details of the rocks to the lighting detail. To the details of the troopers. Plus I noticed the off FPS dip on the XB1 version when ever there was a nearby explosion or when a rock would be shot to pieces.

I need to check out walker assault on the XB1 version tomorrow.

All the hype and this is what we get Dice? I was ok with BF4 being blurry as hell but after Hardline and now this, yins ain't getting my $$. I'll buy CoD before another one of you're poorly optimized games. What a joke! Good luck with you're future /s. I don't even want to play the beta anymore... Stop cash grabbing and optimize you're sh*t.

I've been playing it on XB1 and it's fine. I would rather it on PS4 personally but most of my mates have Xbox. But like I said it looks and plays well.

Ive been playing it on xbox one and i dont agree, it plays perfect in every way. These threads are annoying designed to slate one console in favor of another, thats what theyre designed for to report bad on something to hype someat else up in hope everyone listens and throws the thing they played down to the side.

Star wars looks amazing, its smooth and not one little glitch, bit of lag or stutter, fps is fine and damage to vehicles and turrets looks sweet. Im enjoying it so far and the only thing that did go wrong was i were trying to party up and while it worked for abit towards end of the night it had stopped..

Cant wait for full release and yes ill be enjoying it on my xb1, some reviewers just arnt worth listening to because not matter what you end up playing it on, it looks as though the devs have the star wars effect rite..

Let's not say the game is bad or boring just because xbox have an inferior version. The game may not be super wow but is still good.

So I probably wont' have time to play this game when it comes out...honestly, I'll probably wait till it comes out in the Vault...that being said it actually was pretty fun...and no mater what the resolution says, the game looks great. I did notice some FPS stutters on the X1 version that wasn't in the PS4 version, but that appears to be bad optimization, so hopefully they get that fixed for the final version...but after playing both console Betas, it's safe to say that if anyone tries to tell you that one looks noticeably better than the other...they are pushing an agenda and nothing more. Yes the Res in the Beta is different...but noticeable difference in action....not a chance. I even had both versions going at the same time and just switched inputs...you can't tell which is which unless you know....and stop and look for it.

Enjoy it on whichever console you prefer...for me it's an online game, with team based gunfights...X1 game for me.

As a proud owner of both consoles, you get under my skin. Just because the media only reports on PSN being down does not at all mean xbox is some magical force that is never down. Get over yourself and your silly pride towards one machine and clear blind hatred toward people who like another machine. Enjoy your (on topic) inferior frame rate/resolution (facts on paper, tested) game or don't. I think I am going to skip BF3, personally. Can't muster up 60 when there are too many games already and Fallout is right around the corner.

Wish gamers start understanding how these systems work. There's no need for articles like this. Battlefront was design around the PS4 and EA hasn't spent the time in optimising for the other systems. Not saying the X1 will look any better then the PS4's but look at The Witcher 3, a company went out of its way to optimise all versions and it actually runs smoother on the X1 at 900p. EA hasn't done anything apart from aim for there street release.

Ill be buying this game on PC because the PC version looks set to be the best version as well as the one that looks like the community will stick to for years.

interesting comments here. and i find it funny some fans in some comments before say that frame rate is more important than resolution, and now that dice was able to create a stunning looking game that really capture the vibe from star wars (look wise) and was able to up the frame rate on their engine but at the expense of living the resolution like their previous games, people complain that they arent doing any work to optimize their engine. so what happen to that people that say in a shooter or game in general, frame rate is king or is always more important then resolution. and i find it funny how some comments are comparing exclusive games that run at 1080/60fps to a game thas being developed for 3 platforms. and you know wich ones im talking about

No matter what your playing it on its BORING. Thank you for all the beta's guys. Because I was def going to but this, but not no more. Same for need for speed, great customization but bad gameplay. Out of all the games that come out in November BO3 is the only one getting my money from a beta standpoint.

Not sure I'll buy this until a price drop due to not having a campaign mode, but I can tell you this is one of the best looking games I've ever seen in 4K on PC. It looks amazing.

No doubt I'll get labelled as a downplayer and a fanboy but the games looks outstanding and runs amazing, don't feel like I'm missing out on anything when on Xbox one. Poor optimisation, but even with that, amazing game. Props to DICE on this one, just would like a bit more content for my $60

I downloaded the beta on both my xb1 & ps4. Even those it's slightly sharper on the ps4.... Both suffer from frame-rate drops . I was playing on a 50" screen . Tbh the resolution doesn't bother me , the game looks great on both systems. Unfortunately the beta showed me nothing to get excited about, il save my money for halo 5 & fallout 4.
