Hope it's better than the last one. And half as good as skyrim, and takes borderlands back to school. I also hope the micro transactions are worth the price along with solid dlc. As we wait for the inevitable fallout online,

2 previous Fallouts were better than Skyrim. Where's your Talos now?

GrimDragon3881d ago

Lol...sigh fine you win @slghtlyretarded. Where's that dam VR when you need it for games like this?!

Stringerbell3881d ago (Edited 3881d ago )

These requirements in particular the CPU is crazy high. I have an i7 but looking at these specs it just screams poor optimization. Wonder what its going to take to get that 60 FPS...

Ace Killa 083881d ago

No it doesn't scream poor optimization. Witcher 3 required a i7 and still ran good on an i5.

That requirement alone does not scream anything about poor optimization.

What it takes to run at 60 FPS? A good graphics card, apparently a 780 or a 290x.

Of course all these recommended specs are never taken seriously. Except for the CPUs when you use a dual core.

Stringerbell3881d ago

The theme this gen has been processor heavy its not even up for debate that's its mainly due to poor optimization...

frostypants3880d ago (Edited 3880d ago )

@Stringerbell, it's entirely "up for debate". I'm debating it right now. Just because they RECOMMEND an i7 to max things out doesn't mean they didn't optimize. On the contrary, it could easily mean the dev coded said game in such a way as to take advantage of the i7 if you happen to have one. The i7 is the superior CPU, but the reason the i5 tends to be enough is that very little effort is made to exploit the advantages of the i7.

So really, it's kind of the opposite of what you said. More optimization towards exploiting the i7's strengths would lead to the recommendation of an i7.

Note that I still wouldn't go out and buy an i7 4790 even if they recommend it. $300 is $100 more than I like to spend on a CPU and I'm sure an i5 would be close enough..

great finally got the specs:

-i5 4590

- 750 ti

- 8gb Ram

should i be able to run this? Possibly would have to lower some settings a bit but that's fine. so long i can run it at decent/good settings.

just making sure. looking to upgrade eventually to the 980 but will hold off on that a bit if Fallout 4 can run with current hardware.

I wouldn't upgrade to another Nvidia card until/unless they iron out their DX12 issues.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot195d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder195d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain195d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
