Feature: Five Things Fallout 4 Needs to Get Right on PS4

Push Square: "Blockbuster releases are strange things. You spend what feels like an eternity waiting for the next big thing, absorbing all of the excitement that you possibly can, and then before you know it, it's already a week after launch day and you've pumped 100 hours into your new favourite game. The hype's dispersed somewhat by this point, and then it's a case of looking forward to yet another title that's sitting on the horizon."

Valid points. With the release being about a month away more of these articles are going to appear which over time will then over saturate the site.

I just want a relatively bug free game (there will be bugs, that's a given but hopefully nothing like with past titles) and given the amount of RAM in the PS4/X1 compared to the 360/PS3.. it really shouldn't be a problem.

That's not to say I'm just a little cautious, I still remember what Todd Howard and Bethesda kept saying about the PS3 version of 'Skyrim'.. and that game was a disaster for me personally.. so many numerous freezes, hard freezes, slowdowns.

Simply don't have the "traditional" the company makes for various platforms. The glitches can be funny sometimes... just sometimes, definitely none of the game breaking bugs that prevent you from even completing the game.

Number one reason I'm buying Fallout 4 on my XB1 instead of my PS4, Broken Mess. Seem like Bethesda's track record with Sony's console leaves a lot to be desired. Not to mention, like Skyrim, all the DLC and now the Mods come out first on XB. I don't see this changing and won't take that risk. Add to that Fallout 3 which I never completed and its a no-brainer.

BTW those expecting bug free from Bethesda are delusional. You may want to aim for less bugs not bugless.

It would be a Great shame if Bethesda messes up Fallout 4 for the ps4, the x86-64 programming languages on both p4/xb1 is basically no different then of the pc, and also both consoles have more memory to spare this time, on top of those 2 main factors, p4's 7870 gpu will always be inherently stronger than X1's 7790 gpu so resolution and frame rates should benifit the ps4 by default, so if ps4 version come technically more weaker than xb1, I know I'll be crying foul and accuse Bethesda of playing console discrimination.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
