The dead ship hums a low tune. Dried blood scales the floor and the dark storage room is empty. Of the four stasis pods in the room, only one is left intact. A release switch triggers, the mysterious life-preserving fluid gushes out, and the pod cackles to life. A man falls to the floor from the stasis tube, while an unseen-robotic overseer scans the freshly-awoken individual. The man responds, “This isn’t my ship.”

Spooky season is here again at last and time of the horror game has arrived alongside it. This year has seen the return of some the genre's greatest entires, but both tended to focus more on thrills than they did chills. So, those wanting a bit more of the latter this month would do well to check out at least one of these before Halloween rolls around.
