Before Larian Studios began the Kickstarter for Divinity: Original Sin 2, they asked fans for ideas when it came to stretch goals. One was to bring on Chris Avellone, founder of Obsidian Entertainment and developer for Fallout 2 andPlanescape: Torment.
While purely a hopeful goal at first, it was announced today in a Kickstarter update that Avellone will indeed be joining the team for development ofDivinity: Original Sin 2, after a meeting with Swen Vincke at PAX. He will be lending his talent to develop and write, “at least one of the playable origin stories in the game.”
The Kickstarter is currently at $1,688, 636 which also means they have hit the stretch goal to include an editor that allows for dedicated mod support. Larian will bring on a separate team to work exclusively on that portion of the game.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 now has current gen versions available for Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
People may not understand this but you get so much gameplay value out of a Larian game! It is basically 100s of possible hours with all the classes, decisions etc.
Great replay value, would suggest it to anyone who likes CRPGs.
I started bg3 again a month ago, to remember why I hated it. 100 hours later not only is it one of my favorites but i downloaded divinity 2 not even realizing it was just dropped for ps5.
