Batman: Arkham Knight - Post-Patch - Low versus High Textures Comparison Screenshots

DSOGaming writes: "The major performance patch for Batman: Arkham Knight has just been released. While SLI and Crossfire are still not working properly, we decided to give this game a go. And, to be honest, we were really shocked with the game’s new graphics options/suggestions. According to its VRAM indication, a GPU with at least 3GB of VRAM is required for Normal and High Textures. Enabling these textures on our GTX690 brought massive amounts of stuttering. Therefore, we decided to capture some screenshots and compare the game’s Low and High textures."

At least there is a noticeable difference in some places, unlike MGS V.

john23902d ago

Still, the game feels unoptimized when it comes to its VRA requirements (especially when other games have higher quality textures that require less VRAM)

OhMyGandhi3901d ago

there looks to be absolutely minimal difference in high/low texture settings.
Seriously makes me wonder if they even tested the game. Did they even have testers? or was there just a single quadriplegic chimpanzee sitting in front of an old tv in a small, stuffy room with no A/C that does "his best"?

There are STILL issues!?! Also, the VRAM might not make a lot of sense but you've gotta remember it's a fairly large game so it's adding a lot of detail in a lot of places. But then again this game is a mess so it's probably just HORRIBLY optimized still.

Its an interim patch, not the full fix.

Ipunchbabiesforfun3901d ago

Oh, interim still? That's a damn joke! It's been what, 3 months? WB sucks.

Kalebninja3900d ago (Edited 3900d ago )

Well they did tell us we'd have to wait until fall and that this wasn't he full patch in advance. Shouldnt have expected more or have been surprised if you followed the updates from the company.

Ipunchbabiesforfun3900d ago

I haven't, I don't have the PC version so I had no reason to.

Grap3901d ago

looking at the ram usage !!!!!

I would also add Risk of Rain 2 as long as you don't stray too far from a power source as each run can be long as the hours melt away. Another thing to note is that based on the reports, the FPS may drop into the 40s if a lot of enemies are on the screen.

There is also the Half Life series. If you haven't played half-life before then you can do so now at the super low price.

Mafia was amazing looking and had a great story. Played flawlessly at 30fps as well without dips 99% of the time.

The same is true for Jedi Fallen Order

Sony games as also on sale. Picked up Rachet and Clank, cant wait to try it!
