For all the flak it gets about it's content and DLCs, I have to give Bungie credit for not having a single microtransaction in Destiny to date.

If they'd sold Gjallarhorn for $5 8-10 months ago they would have made a ridiculous amount of money.

DLC and Microtransactions are killing gaming.

Some do DLC properly (Rockstar being a prime example with Red Dead, and GTA IV), most do not (Maps held back, guns held back,etc) and of course the worst offender is Crapcom.

The saying a fool and his money are soon parted applies to both DLC and Micro trans. If the gaming community banded together and boycotted product it would stop with a quickness.

Unfortunately, it's here to stay as long as people pay to bypass playing the game itself. The reason people choose to do this, is that they either can't prioritize their time effectively, or they have too much money for their own good.

The 3rd option, is because companies looked at statistics, and figured out how to slow down progression without setting off alarms to the average joe.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Wuchang is great. Nine Sols didn’t have a physical copy so I never played it but I’ve heard good things so I will check it out. I stopped playing sports games many years ago when before the card dlc’s or whatever they’re called.
