Nintendo Should Bring Back Xenosaga

Considering the fact that Nintendo acquired Monolith Soft, the stark similarities in thematic elements of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenosaga, and the unfortunate cliff hanger ending of Xenosaga, Nintendo is in a great position to conclude the franchise, adding the best of both worlds.

First of all Nintendo never owned the rights to Xenosaga, Namco does. And seeing how characters from Xenosaga appear in Project X Zone, its clear that Namco isn't going to let go of their ownership of the IP. Nintendo would have a better chance at finishing the Xenogears franchise.

All Nintendo can do at this point is continue their Xenoblade franchise.

It not impossible though.
Considering after Namco sold Monolith Soft to Nintendo.

Xenosaga 1-2 was remade for DS in Japan.

Namco helped Nintendo with Smash Brothers though so there is a working relationship there.

Nintendo should revive a lot of old franchises like Star Tropics and Earthbound!

Yeah the key word is should.

An HD trilogy would suffice.

Hoffmann3906d ago (Edited 3906d ago )

Nintendo or Monolith Software don't even own the rights. Its up to namco to re-release them.

@Articlewriter from Gamerpros..research next time.

And Namco did on DS. As 1-2. After they sold them.

If Namco were to use Monolith Soft as the developer for HD collection or remake. It would be Wii U only or whatever Nintendo system they decide.

Reason for Project X Zone 1-2 being exclusive to Nintendo.

Monolith Soft can still work for Namco but only for Nintendo system.

So another dev would have to develop it for it to be on other system.

U.S. patent examiner rejects Nintendo’s summoning characters patent as obvious: non-final ruling

The rejection is non-final (and even when such rejections are labeled as “final”, the process is far from over, given that there can be, at minimum, an appeal to the Federal Circuit).

Good, as they should! A game mechanic like that shouldn't be locked behind a patent, and Nintendo didn't invent it either.

Nintendo wants to keep wasting money on bullshit lawsuits, real smart in this economy. They should put that money aside for other game projects. On the other hand, I don't care if they waste it all either, and they are screwed in the future maybe that will teach them a lesson.

Makes sense. It's been nearly 3 years since the DLC for 3 came out. The next Xenoblade or whatever they end up calling it will probably come out next year.
