I agree with some of that, but I'm not sure how valid it is to say "We can't expect the developer to…" and then list it as a problem, which happened several times in the video. Also, the "Don't Move" parts are very intense imo, and you can watch the controller prompt to make fine adjustments if you see it start to move on it's own, which does seem to happen at times. I definitely agree about the general motion controls. I've played games where they are used very effectively and it puzzles me why there aren't more that do, but with this one I switched to more traditional controls fairly quickly and felt like they could have done a better job with that. One thing you didn't mention are a couple of plot holes that are there if you think about the overall story. They aren't even plot holes related to the interactive nature of the game. They'd be there if you had no control over the story at all.

You have no idea how many times I almost hast a heart attack because of the don't move prompts lol literally had to stop breathing to get by them. Especially towards the end when the outline get smaller. Loved it though! The only thing I would have loved is they should have added more difficult button promos like Heavy rain. Those were fun completing. Had to use the tip of my tongue at some point because my fingers were all tied up lol

Kratos0Ultra3924d ago

it's genius. It helps to immerse you in the game. I can't believe they have a problem with that. Playstationlifestyle is going to quickly loose some followers if they keep this up.

SuperRaccoon3924d ago

Oh I remember those sequences, it was great because you never knew how intense they were going to be, so if you didn't plan ahead you would run out of fingers very quickly. I loved that game, I need to play it again.

SoapShoes3924d ago

I really liked the don't move prompts. I only missed one. They really weren't that hard to me.

TWB3924d ago (Edited 3924d ago )

I havent played the game and generally really dislike QTE's but agree with the "dont move" thingy.

I think it looks like a nice way of adding tension into a cutscene like moments and doesnt really require you to react quickly into a action during an already tense moment. Thats what makes me hate QTEs and love the "dont move"

SaveMeJebus3924d ago

Yesh, talk about being picky. If you can't hold a controller still in your hands, then maybe you deserve to die.

amiga-man3924d ago

I thought the moments where I had to hold the controller still some of the most nerve wracking in the game, a brilliant and innovative use of motion controls

deadpoolio3163924d ago

Well considering you also see the damn prompt on the screen and are perfectly capable of making tiny little adjustments should need be....Its not like there is zero indication

FullmetalRoyale3924d ago

Figuratively speaking, of course. :)

DragonKing813924d ago

First time I played it I loved it. It reminded me of Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, and the first Resident Evil with a great horror story.

deadpoolio3163924d ago

LMAO Resident Evil 1 great story, did we play the same game....I know i played it in 1996 when it came out and its far from a great story. Resident Evil was and still is a super cliche B movie story and was always meant to be that

DragonKing813924d ago (Edited 3924d ago )

I said it reminded me of Resident evil atmosphere and vibe and very similar with the horror elements and cliche. The developer's definitely did their homework. They took elements from horror movies and made a fantastic game.

Rimgal3924d ago

The jump scares dude. There are too many.

I was scratching my balls when the killer popped up, and I almost ripped my dick off

SaveMeJebus3924d ago (Edited 3924d ago )

OMG, LMAO! Too funny. XD Your comment is like many scares in the game, very unexpected.

Rimgal3924d ago

Do you scream at the screen like me?

And end up happening something like this?

Kratos0Ultra3924d ago

@Rimgal:

and that is why this game deserves game of the year. a masterpiece of immersion and tension.

Rimgal3924d ago

God dammit this game. You are always at the edge of your seat. You never know what's going to happen next and if something is going to happen.

Congratulations to Massive games, they nailed the horror in this game, but not to the faint of heart.

FunAndGun3924d ago

both your comments made me laugh. +funny

vikingland13924d ago

The video isn't working for me and I've tried two different devices.

Profchaos223d ago

What a line up silent hill 2 is a great addition
Also don't sleep on like a dragon Yakuza such a good game

Dexterio223d ago

Now we're talking! Best month for me this whole year.

Puty223d ago

I am very happy for Tekken 3

Redgrave222d ago

It's not going to get trophies, is it 😕

It's a really solid addition, but I'd love a platinum for it. Same with Soul Calibur 3 if that's really next month.

Deeeeznuuuts222d ago

Yeah, it's a real shame that some publishers still don't add trophies, I mean, even Disney do and they even update games to add them

VersusDMC222d ago

Some PS2 classics have trophies so hopefully Soul Calibur 3 has it.

And ps1 classics not having trophies is dissapointing but at least they give you the new version for free if you bought the old ps1 classic.

I'm confused. Did they contribute to the writing of the movie?

darthv72391d ago

I think the game writes should be glad... the movie is not that good. Its connection to the game is in name only.
