YouTube Gaming Kinda Sucks

"Today, I was curious to see what kind of wrenches Google would throw into game streaming. While I saw both strengths and weaknesses, it doesn’t seem like Twitch has much to worry about, at least in the short term." -PSLS

Love it when people judge things that have literally just launched.

Eonjay3932d ago

Watched some streams last night. I like it so far. For something that just launched, its really decent.

Thunder_G0d_Bane3932d ago

I like it so far, definitely cant complain

As a gaming video entertainment site I love it, but just for streams I'd say twitch is so far a better option.

What I love is that you can search for a game and get bunch of videos, play through, streams etc. sorted in one fancy site ;)

twitch will always be #1 for streams imo. However i hope youtube gaming does well enough to give twitch some pressure because twitch likes to take its time to rollout updates and improvements. Case in point, twitch has a ~3k encoding bitrate limit while youtube gaming is sporting ~9k encoding. This may incentives twitch to finally update backend systems

This are going to get interesting once console intergration comes.

I much rather have all my content be in one place (youtube) than be split between twich / youtube.

I'm looking forward to youtube integration. Also, youtube is a lot less anon when it comes to commenting too!

Same here. If subscribers from YouTube are notified of my streams then bye bye Twitch!

Wasn't this touted as a feature of Stadia previously and never came to fruition? I swear I remember a whole thing about "watching a youtuber play Assassins Creed? Just hit the embedded play button and immediately jump to exactly where they are in the game!"

just_looken1073d ago

It was then it came out in beta i tried it then like alot of google stuff poof gone into the either.

Now its back no doubt behind there youtube paywall crap after you buy the game sense they supported stadia so well you know this will get all that support also.

gold_drake1073d ago

google should be more focusing on their google play games to function on pcs already.

i dont wanna wait any longer haha

just_looken1073d ago

Though yes janky it would be nice if it was from google but like m$ and its xbox pc app these trillion dollar companies take there time on everything.

Makes sense. Youtube is...a very big platform and been around very long lol. If I could go to a game streaming tab on my youtube app instantly, that'd be cool honestly.
