Castlevania was a great series, but one game started a down turn of events that led to the series loosing it's original focus. Castlevania 64 might not be the worst game ever, but it's impact left a scar on RetroGamingTube 85 that he may never recover from.
Prominent N64 modder HailToDodongo has released the first version of N64 game engine and editor, Pyrite64, alongside a short highlight video.
While the Nintendo 64 didn’t sell the most units during its hallowed run, it did see multiple genre-defining games.
It’s true that graphically some of them are a bit rough around the edges, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t games on the N64 that still hold up.
Star Fox 64, Ocarina of Time, Mario 64… man, this was seriously a time where you were feeling gaming gong to the next level. I still think the PS1 library stomped the sh*t out of the N64’s, but I’d be lying if I said there weren’t more than a few bangers on that console.
i thought it was pretty good
Castlevania 64 was one of the most joyless gaming grinds ever. Particularly the early levels with all the skeletons.
Never played it but the PS2 games sucked so I wager N64 was as bad or worse.
It was my first Castlevania, I'll admit. Too spooky for me at the time.
