Just because those people aren't buying tons of games, doesn't mean that the term is meaningless. It just means that those people are casuals, or hardcore gamers that are dedicated to those few franchises.
Okay? It's the industry that coined the term... We just call ourselves 'gamers'.
Lol okay. Right. Lump the Facebook and Mobile gamers in with pro gamers at EVO while you're at it, why not.
this article is about mmo's or mobas. with those you want to cast the widest net you can since you rely on monthly payments. So just because a certain studio, making a certain game doesn't use the term to evaluate their audience, sure doesn't mean that "core gamers" don't exist.
I consider myself a core gamer, which i consider means that someone who plays games that aren't primarily phone or facebook etc. The main part of it though i consider is someone who is enthusiastic and closely follows the gaming industry as a hobby.
Talk about a YOU and a ME YEAH!! and the games people play.
