Except these games are released annually, and work for the most part fine every year.

I find it surprising they should have issues at all. It's not like these network problems are "unknown" with every sequel.

I don't think the problems has anything to do with PSN per se, but the article do indicate the PS4 due to some settings?

Beta testing is used for the devs to test different settings at their end and to check how everything runs, just because it's released every year doesn't mean there won't be issues. It may be deliberately struggling because they switched something their end to check server load or who knows what.
Articles like this are not warranted, devs open up their games for beta to get feedback and check connections and servers and search for bugs, things will go wrong as that's the plan. If we have people moaning and writing articles on beta's having issues then devs won't bother.
I've been in many beta's and this one is extremely smooth compared to many.

Articles like this do no favours to what the beta is trying to achieve, it's written for one purpose and one purpose only....clicks.

I had a bunch of problems trying to play yesterday. You power up the beta, play a couple of games, and then the game will REFUSE to put you in a lobby.

The paint-shop also doesn't work like it's supposed to, very glitchy.

When I do get to play, I have a fucking blast, but it's obvious that Treyarch has a lot of work to do over the next few months.

This is what beta's are for. Solve the problems before game is released.

This could be a good thing for xbox one owners as hopefully the server problems will be fixed by time the xbox one beta is released.

Sounds like a normal running cod to me. Hopefully they actually fix these issues before launch, but I'll not bet on it.

I've experienced lag here and there but that's when it picks a terrible host. Only time I've had match making issues was when I was in a party of 4 or more. Took us 15min to get put in a match at one point. All in all though I'm having a lot of fun. The last 3 CoDs I sold within 2wks. This one idk what it is but I'm loving it.

But... how is SONY responsible for a publisher/ devs servers? They don't own Activision / CoD lol... it's the publisher's responsibility, not SONY. Someone actually agreed with your none sense lol.

I'm not saying PSN is the shit, but this is not PSN's fault. Lag / matchmaking is on Activision's DEDICATED SERVERS, and P2P SERVERS...not SONY'S DEDICATED SERVERS.

Knowing is half the battle ;)

Lag has been much worse last couple of hours for me, obviously won't find out until the 26th to see if XB1 has same problems because then we'll know if it's a beta thing or if it's PSN becuause Vahn has said it's not the beta :/

Any problems will be down to activisions demonware servers and not PSN.

I'm getting the game on xbox one and even I know that you can't blame PSN for everything.

I've watched a lot of this beta play.. it wasn't that long of an issue, I read. Just a simple back out and play again type of deal.. No biggie. I wonder how this will affect the Xbox One and PC beta launch.. Because I'm waiting!

I was playin loads yesterday with pretty much no problems at all but today is different for me, it seems to play gd on td lobbys for me but s&d lobbys today are pretty much unplayable on half the games I play. Or try to play.

There were articles yesterday or day before explaining how the servers work in BO3.

"This also means that Call of Duty: Black Ops III multiplayer will be based on the same hybrid servers system that hosted Advanced Warfare, with some servers dedicated, some others based on common P2P."

So just to clear things up for people who didn't read the article and are thinking this is a PSN issue, it's not. This is a Activision / CoD issue.

I played this morning and experienced extreme frame skipping. It was unplayable. Shooting at a guy and then teleports ahead 10 foot.

The thing that makes you laugh, is when they say they want to test the sever load. They now every year how many users login to play COD on day one launch. So that test the server load is a bunch of crap. I've seen lag but not this much lag for a COD game. Really bad.

Frame rate drops are bad consdering it looks like a ps3 title with sharper textures. Its 2015 they should have cod far more polished by now, they have been pushing out the same shit since modern warfare in 2007. Still fun though.
